Sgt Pepper Remix

I'm having trouble finding where to buy a high-def version of the Giles Martin remix. Amazon will sell me a CD or an MP3 download, but I'm looking for legit FLAC files (not something somebody ripped off a CD and posted to a pirate site). I know it exists because all the reviews mention both FLAC and 96KHz releases.

Anybody know where to get it?

I believe there's a box set available that contains many CDs and DVDs full of stuff, not sure if FLACs are available separately

I haven't seen those available either but I would presume that they're delaying the release of them so that they can flog as many expensive CD-box-sets-with-all-the-trimmings as possible first.

Amazon has the CD, at the reasonable price of $13.99 (as opposed to the big box set at $127.49). It's also offered as an MP3 for $14.49.

Normally, I'd just buy the CD and rip it myself. It's 50 cents cheaper and I'd have a permanent backup. But this is one of the few times I'd prefer to spring for original FLACs rather than listen to WMA files ripped from a CD, which are only marginally higher-fidelity than 256 kb/s (or worse) MP3s.

This should generate a good bit of extra income for Ringo eh?  The last of the initial Beatles (unless you consider Pete Best to be the original drummer in which case they're all gone, ya?).

Actually, I can. But admittedly, only if I know the material well. That criterion, I think, is met in this case.

OTOH, I'm afraid a high-def remix of Kanye West's greatest hits would be lost on me.

i don't think that's the new re-mix,
only a 'deluxe' edition.

the 50th anniv remix says just that on it...

it's confusing.

if the band wasn't involved in the original stereo mix,
and it was a rushed job,
i can imagine the new re-mix would be awesome compared to the somewhat dim stereo original,
the mono version sounds so much better.

I hope you're wrong.

It's dated 26 May 2017, the release date of the remix. The preview snippits all say "(Remix)" behind them. That would be some blatantly false advertising if that turned out to be not factual.

I'd like to see some facts to back up that statement.

Some irrelevant facts:

The molecular weight of water is about 18 daltons.
Human hair grows at a rate of about 6 inches per year.
Soil with high acidic content usually occurs in areas with lots of rainfall.
A light year is ~5565135572106353 smoots.

I can get more if that's not enough

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

I'm at the point in life where some grey hairs are popping up in my beard. Not many. I could probably count them on two hands.

The weird thing though is some of these buggers SPROUT. Like... night before = no grey hair there, next morning = wow... that three inch grey hair that is longer than the rest of the surrounding hairs that wasn't there last night is totes freakin' me out!

I will say though... the nice thing about having a beard is you don't have to worry so much about ear and/or nose hair. There's so much fur that it all just blends into itself.

Now I'm trying to wrap my head around the fact that one of my (supposedly) irrelevant facts has somehow become the main topic of this discussion.

It's my understanding that they don't "sprout" but one of the darker hairs that's already grown out loses it's color and becomes gray (or grey if you prefer).

Heh... yeah I figure that's the more likely answer but it's funny to think about some hair folicle playing "The Little Whisker That Could" in the middle of the night as I drool into my pillow.

"Iz is goana be the LONGLIEST and the GREYIEST hair EVAR!!!!"

They still seem to grow faster than other whiskers after they turn "zombie" anyway. Maybe once the folicle doesn't give a fart about producing pigment it can focus on pooping out hair at a faster rate.

I have that one freak nipple hair that's about an inch and a half long. I keep tweaking the little bugger out but it always comes back. I also have a stray eyebrow hair that's twice as long as the rest. Every time I get my hair cut she says "want me to get that for you?" Again, a futile procedure.
