I am honored to be first. It's really outstanding. Great song and playing. At first I felt it needed more reverb on the vocals and some guitars. The sound grew on me and now I am not sure. I hear "Wooden Ships" from days gone by. This is anthem music. Superbly done.

I like this piece. For me, like Rimshot, it definitely channels late 60's and CSN&Y......that's good because that style isn't heard anymore that I know of. I was waiting for a big voice or guitar melody hook but the "Shaman-trance thing" seems to be what you were going for. The musical dreamscape is interesting, good choice on the sounds and timbres. I think the mix is close. If it were mine I would boost the voices and lead guitar passages. The voices are nice , I would like to hear them a bit louder. Just my opinion, as I enjoy listening to your work and this is different from your others.....superior track here.......................Ron

thanks for listening, rimshot... this one is one of the trickiest songs i've mixed to date. it should be simple, keys, some guitar parts scattered, 3 part harmonies, simple drum track. but it's all over the place, really...... savageopera I like this piece. appreciate the critique, savage, thanks the 'trance thing', yes, that's the goal.... it's supposed to be a story, that takes a while to tell, it's more subtle than the 'big voice/guitar' kind of approach. i'm on the fence, as to whether or not to feature the keys more, over the guitar... i think on my final pass, i'm going to do a little of both.... and probably bring up the lead vox across the board.....

I enjoyed that, I am sure by the time you have tweaked some more this shining example will be even more polished. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome playing and very interesting piece. Production as always sounds total pro. Looking forward to hearing final result but sounds fully baked to me as is.

This is close to perfection. You could throw in a few arpeggios on the piano, but the overall sound is lovely.

For me, this hits the button, yet again... I've tried to visit your cdbaby page but for some reason I'm getting an error (and I've tried a few methods of getting there)... You are going to have to make your whole page downloadable so I can stick your tunes on my iPod

thanks wookie.... with the keys, and similar to 'space', it's another element that i have to try a dozen different approaches before i 'learn' what works for what i want. going in blind, so to speak, and finding my way out. LOL as it is, i'm re-tweaking the keys to feature them more in certain spot... i've got a large grand piano, linked to a string-type synth, left and right, and the synth 'follows' the piano.... i've been on the fence about whether to strip it down to just piano or not, but no one has mentioned it as an issue, so i'm inclined to leave it as is. ohgrant Awesome playing and very interesting piece. ohgrant, thank you for listening..... it IS a bit different from my typical writing..... Lynn This is close to perfection. You could throw in a few arpeggios on the piano, but the overall sound is lovely.
lynn, heheh, i don't know about perfection..... maybe close to the edge of the cliff......! LOL synkrotron For me, this hits the button, yet again... I've tried to visit your cdbaby page but for some reason I'm getting an error (and I've tried a few methods of getting there)... You are going to have to make your whole page downloadable so I can stick your tunes on my iPod synk, appreciate the kind words, glad it hits something! so, i'm trying to SELL my songs, i typically will stream them but not give em away..... they are available on Itunes, amazon.com, cdbaby, a few other places.... my first album, "Trouble", on Planet Records, is out of print.... i'm thinking about re-mixing it and putting it up digitally, after i finish this current album.... and my last album "The Time is Magic" is available.... so, if you click on this............. http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/batsbrewit should take you there. i did try the link earlier, and it glitched.... and tried it just now, and it works fine. must be something going on at CdBaby.

I look forward to that Rob thanks. Have you taken Shaman Song down for some tweaking? It's gone missing from your SoundCloud page...
