Shattered, new tune by Distant Towers

Good morning/evening/afternoon....or whatever it is wherever you may be.  Hope everyone is doing well.

Our new tune called Shattered is available for listening here...
http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=11615352

We would appreciate any feedback, good or bad.

The crew.....
Tom McCaffrey:  Background vocals, odd noises, all things Sonar
Preston Richardson:  Drums
Tony Wood:  Guitar, bass, vocals, guitar synth

This one traveled a long, winding path to completion.  It started as an idea by me.  The idea came at a time when our leader, Tom, was preparing to move to Korea (where he now resides).  Preston and I worked on the tune until Tom's new studio (DT Far East) was up and running.  At that time Tom worked on background vocals, added some odds and ends, then incorporated the final drum tracks.  We are glad to be a functioning band again.  We hope you'll listen to our latest and let us know what you think.

See ya round.

I love this song. It's very inventive and hip. The arrangement, guitar riffs, vocals, and mix are clean, yet, organic. The vocals are well performed and catchy. My only crit, which is minor, is that I would like to hear a little wider panning of the instruments. Otherwise, this is a gem.

    All the best,

    Hey Tony
GREAT tune guys!  A bit of s different approach from the norm, but still has that DT taste.  Love the solo guitar tone and the delays/verbs used. Mix sounds great on my end.
Hey Tony, tell Tom I had a run in with the boys from Stranded On A Planet hear in Chicago. He knows the owners dad Mr Fritz.  I heard that maybe you might have some mastering done. They really are a great bunch of guys with a cool approach to the one stop shop of media production.
Any hoot, GREAT tune looking forward to hearing more.

I'm continually impressd on the mixes so many people get on this site, and this is no exception.  The writing and musicanship is stellar as well.  Great sound here.

Great to hear a new DT tune, I was getting withdrawl symptoms Cool, edgy stuff as always, and I hear you stole my favourite Moog synth patch

Love the various guitar tones in this, and the mix is as crisp and clear as anything you've done. Special mention to Preston - drums are wonderful on this song.

Typical -- Typical ---- Typical!!!  Typically wonderful DT music.  I love the kind of haunting sound to this number -- it really pulls you into the song.  It is the same type of feel that I get from the early Zombies.  Terrific writing, arrangement, playing, and mix.
    Excellent work y'all.

Wasn't expecting that, like the vocals and is it double tracking or have you got a 2nd vocalist.

A bit Ween, there is a couple of really cool sonic ambient noises going on.

Lots of textures, this has real comercial viability.

    Great job

First things First....a thousands pardons for being AWOL for so long. As Tony alluded to I've moved from the comfort of me Virginia homestead to Chinhae South Korea. We hit the ground here 15 Dec last year and as with any move (and new position) it takes quite a bit to get settled but I think we've rounded the corner. Tony laid it out so I'll just add that as I packed my bags in Dec packing the computer was the most difficult of tasks....I was fairly confident that after three years (Tony and I followed by Preston at the 2 year mark?) we'd be back at it despite the move.....so I'm thrilled that we are keepin on! Again "parroting" Tony is GREAT to have DT up and running and I'm hoping to catch up with some ole friends here and meet some new faces as well...as well as listen to exciting performances/recordings. I DO miss having the time to dive into all the great stuff that flies from this nest! As for those who have been trying to keep up (Paulo, James as well as a few others) thanks for keeping us honest! We miss coming into studios and having a peek inside yer brains now and again! Thanks for the welcoming home party!! KK Now to the tune. Tony really did the bulk of the work here and as always Preston's kit brings things to a new level...I was just happy to add a wee bit o DT madness at the end and here you have it! more to come....... Hey, Tony and Tom,

Call off the search party, the boys are back in town!  It's really great to see Distant Towers cranking out some cool new music.

This is another really unique and very creative gem to add to the DT collection.  I really love the smooth vibe and the rich, clean guitar tones floating over the textured synth pads and Preston's great drum work.  I'm on my third listen.  Excellent lead singing and background vocals, and a perfect guitar solo for the song style.

Dynamite work, guys and a warm welcome back!

Nice!!!  Great to hear a DT tune.  What the heck is my buddy, Tom, doing in Korea?  Can he tell us?  :-)  I'm not going to drool all over this because it's what I expect from you guys.  I will say that I love this tune and you lived up to your reputation.  Nice vocals, Tony.  I hear the chameleon on the bgv.  Keep 'em comin.  I loved everything about this one!

Top-drawer vocal textures ... my fav aspects here.  Few producers appreciate vocal textures as I do.  (listening on k701 cans)

There is that Dark-side-of-the-moon melancholy that resounds in many (if not all) of your works.  I suppose that will vibe most of your pieces; but I much prefer yours over P.F.'s doleful album.

Everything converses distantly yet spot-on close (if that makes sense).
