    Nice that Matt

I liked the overall energy of the piece.

I'm not great at giving advice on mixing and what have you as I generally think everyone here creates well balanced songs. If it is something obvious then, yes, I will comment, but, to my ears this sounded okay, mix wise.

    cheers

I liked the song, has a nice vibe and catchy rhythm to it. The mix sounds well balanced and each instrument can be heard nicely - good job.

Nice one.  The melody really pulls one into this song.  It seems to have a style that would be radio friendly.  I have no right to comment on mixing (since I don't know what I'm doing in that regard) but perhaps a little more on the BGV's and a few more fills on the drums might add a bit to this song.

Hi Matt! This is good, got a Tom Petty vibe in the rhythm. Plenty to enjoy in there, guitars are subtle but hooky, just right for the song.

This is a terrific song, but I feel there's something missing.  I had a hard time hearing the bass guitar, although the bass drum was quite present.  I felt it lacked drive because of that.  I also had a hard time understanding the lyrics, but I thoroughly enjoyed them.  I think if you turn up the bass and vocals this will be a real gem!  Just my personal taste, perhaps.

    All the best,

Nice song and arrangement Matt. The kick drum is overpowering the bass in the mix a tad for me

Thanks fellas. I've given it more bass by moving some of the guitar out of the way and just tweaking the bass itself a bit...and turned the whole song down by about 7db...and I've taken off some of the rubbish I had on the stereo buss. Also tried to get the kick to sit.

As I did not hear the previous due the particularities of the inter-web I can make no comparison.

The mix sounds OK here, I do wonder if the kick is a little pedestrian? other than it all sound well done, thanks for sharing.

Very good. I liked the chord changes.  The only nit I have is that I couldn't make out most of the lyrics.

Hi! Love the song! Great feel and sound.
Remember what they say about opinions
    I listened to both versions
I would bring in the vocals 4 bars sooner.
Bring the guitar rhythm up a tad
Bring the bass up 2 tads

I say this again .. I love the song!

Kick is pedestrian for sure. The whole drum track is pedestrian. It's ezdrummer...I suck at ezdrummer! Doesn't help that I converted the drums to audio and lost the midi. That sucks.

Rhythm up a tad...bass up 2 tads. Will do.

Nice! Sounds great to me. I also got a Petty vibe from it, not just from the rhythm but also from the melody. At the the very beginning I thought; “Running Down A Dream”!

It's been a long time - cool tune.  I liked the lead vox - reminds me of Marc Bolan.
