Shore song 2017 - Working demo.

Hi all!
 
I am working on an updated version of a song I wrote with my brother around 25 years ago! This is an all new backing track with the original vocals grafted on from the old 4 track tape. Still a little more polish work to do once I have the new vocal tracks but I'm pleased with progress so far and haven't posted any new material anywhere in a while so I though I would share.

    The vocals are from an old 4 track tape? Darn. They stand up well. This is really nice. I know zero about the EDM genre. Is there a rule that guitars not be used? Just curious as I really don't know. Regardless, this is both well written and well performed.

    No rules about guitars in EDM - if anything EDM is whatever works! I do play guitar but it is most definitely my second instrument so I struggle to create interesting parts to compliment complex arrangements like these - always open to ideas though.
     
    I still surprised how well my old Tasacam 424 tapes stand up. I took the time to archive them all into long form Sonar projects a few years back so I can all dip back into them to pluck any good ideas.

    Yes the tascam gives it an edge that I like.  If you can, I'd melodyne the vocals. I realize the tracks are probably bounced.  You're off key in places.  But I like your voice, kind of like Brian Ferryesque.

    I've not given that much time over to the (25 year)old vocal tracks (although I did fix a couple of howlers!) as they are really only placeholders to help me structure the arrangement until we get around to recording the new vocals.
     
    BTW the vocal is by my brother, I gave up singing years ago and stick to the music now which is the best for all of us I reckon!

    I like *square spiral*.  We used to have a restaurant here called *three squared grill*.  I thought that was pretty good as well.  It's been a problem in philosophy for awhile:  how to square a circle.  :D:D
