Shortcut F Revisited.
I posted about this quite awhile back. Here's the original post. http://forum.cakewalk.com/Shortcut-F-m3170680.aspx
I still have not been able to make SONAR (2015) behave in a manner it does/did in 8.5. In 8.5 I could highlight a track then hit "H" and it would hide anything not selected and pull my selection up to fill the window vertically. I've tried CRTL + F (Fit Content) many times with Auto Zoom On and Off. Here is a link to a quick video I captured this afternoon showing me highlighting a clip and then hitting "H" in 8.5. https://www.youtube.com/w...U&feature=youtu.beWill SONAR 2015 do this? Thanks!

Things have changed. Can't you just use the zoom feature ? keyboard command - hold down "Z" and drag left mouse on a track to fit it to the window afterwards - - - >Shift-F - will return to zoom the entire project. Does that work on your system?

There is a full list of the current keyboard shortcuts in the help file or in the reference manual. If you have done all your updates through the CCC then the ref manual will be within the Cakewalk Content folder. If not just open Sonar and press F1 for either the online or offline help. They have been revised considerably since Sonar 8.5

I don't need any Zoom feature provided in SONAR as I have A Mackie MCU and two Extenders. I do any zooming there. When I'm in editing mode I have my left hand on a Kensington Pro track ball next to the keyboard. These are both located on a keyboard tray below the desk surface. My right hand is on the transport control/jog wheel of the MCU on the desk surface. This allows me to work very fast while I'm editing. Having to move my right hand from a higher position (the MCU) down to the keyboard so I can press two keys isn't conducive to a speedy workflow. Since I only record clients, I need every advantage I can get because in my case, time is money. I have purchased every upgrade since Pro Audio 8.5 through 2015 so I know how to look at the manual. And I have the keyboard shortcuts printed/laminated on a sheet laying on my desk. So, I'm assuming this is yet another function where Cakewalk has decided to fix something that wasn't broken. http://www.studiofifty-five.com/

perhaps you really need to put in a feature request. You already know the changes that occurred between 8.5 and 2015, and you can't make 2015 work like 8.5

Maybe there's something here I'm not understanding but in Platinum if I were to double-click just below the pan control in that track, the track would go full screen.

First of all, thank you for your ideas. None of them do what I'm suggesting however.
CTRL+Shift+H does exactly what you says it does. However, it remains the same size vertically. I need it to display just that track (or tracks that have been selected) and FILL THE TRACK VIEW VERTICALLY
Yes, clicking just below the pan control might possibly cause the track to go full screen. However, it's not what I need in my workflow. That would be fine if my cursor happened to be in that are. However I might be editing all the way at the right hand side of the display and would have to go to the left side to do this. And many times I might be editing something like a bass track against a kick track. I can lasso any portion of both those tracks hit "H" and instantly both of those tracks fill the screen vertically. Regardless of how they are zoomed horizontally. And I can do that with one, two, three, etc. tracks.
If the two aforementioned processes hide all tracks/clips not selected AND fill the track view VERTICALLY with your selection, then my copies of X1, X2, X3 and Platinum are broken and must have come from a different batch. They must have been fresh out of this feature on the day my copies were made.
It may sound like a very nitpicky thing but for me it sums up to many more keystrokes and lots of time. I literally can fly through 8.5 and I can't through Platinum. This one thing has been the reason I haven't utilized X1, X2 and X3 although I own all three.
I will make a feature request for a feature that was already part of this excellent software but obviously this is something that's not an issue for the hobbyist. Or even any others who use this software at the professional level. So, I don't feel too confident that this will get much attention.
Call me crazy but this is how it is in my world.
And again, thanks for your suggestions/thoughts.
Earl

I would like a shortcut for maximizing vertical zoom of the selected tracks/clips. Link the feature request and I'll vote.

The feature request function do3es not work. Here is the message I've gotten twice. Feeling very frustrated... Unless I am completely mis-understanding what you are trying to do all you need to do is assign "Show and fit selection" to an F-key on the MCU (or a QWERTY keyboard shortcut if you prefer)

Hi there:) Shift - Doubleclick on a selected clip, shift - doubleclick on a not selected clip does sometimes size two tracks, sometimes one, sometimes 4 tracks (why?) Bassman.

With auto zoom disabled, just double click on a blank space in the track header. This will maximise the track height.

Hi again:) In the Helpfile it is Ctrl - F for the selected clips, but this doesn't work, you have to reassign it in the Preferences - Shortcut Menu. After that it works! Bassman.
