Shortcut for Zoom in Horizontally

So I know I can zoom in horizontally and zoom out horizontally using ctrl+left and ctrl+right. But I want the same thing to happen with my scroll wheel on my mouse. The closest I have found is alt+left and alt+right. But it zooms in and out both vertically and horizontally. Can I edit the shortcuts so it only does it horizontally, like ctrl+left/right? I can't find any scroll wheel option in the shortcuts list. I basically want this:

crtl+left  =   alt+'scroll up'   =    zooms in horizontally
ctrl+right  =   alt+'scroll down'    =    zooms out horizontally

Possible?

    Ctrl+SHift + up/down zooms tracks vertically, if that's what you meant.

    Is this what you are looking for?

    To select Fast Zoom options
    1.
    Click the Track view Options menu and choose Zoom Options.

    2.
    Select the intensity of the Zoom effect in Zoom Factor by using the spinners or manually entering a value.

    3.
    Select the vertical and horizontal Zoom focus.

    4.
    Check or uncheck Simultaneous Vertical and Horizontal Zoom.

    The default is for Simultaneous Vertical and Horizontal Zoom to be checked. If you uncheck it, Fast Zoom exhibits the following behaviors.
    [font=""]○
    ALT+Mouse Wheel zooms vertically

    [font=""]○
    ALT+SHIFT+Mouse Wheel zooms faster vertically

    [font=""]○
    CTRL+ALT+Mouse Wheel zooms horizontally

    [font=""]○
    CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+Mouse Wheel zooms faster vertically

    5.
    Click OK.

    So you still have to hit CTRL+ALT with the mouse wheel. I too have wanted to just use the mouse wheel to zoom horizontally. This is a standard feature in Sony Vegas....roll the wheel forward and the timeline zooms in....roll it back and it zooms out. Very easy to work with.

    But then you'll need a shortcut to scroll up and down! All comes down to personal preferences. I'm not too fussed what the shortcuts are, as long as I can access them with one hand on the keyboard and one hand on the mouse. If I'm working on SONAR, my hands are always in that position. In fact, any program at all, that's how I work, unless I'm typing. I think we really need two mice.

    Observe.
