Shortcuts for markers navigation

Hi all!
Trying Sonar at the moment. Nice DAW!

One problem: can't find how to do quick switch between markers position.

PT provides "."+"marker number" method, Nuendo -- just pressing number on numpad. But in Sonar I've found only "goto next/ prev marker" shortcut It's not comfortable to do mouse click on transport to locate on marker needed...

Explain please, why this feature doesn't exist? May be I missed something important?

Thanx,
am-I-am

Unfortunatley i cannot help you with this but i would love to know how to set it up so i could use the numberpad for the marker switching. Would make jumping from song to song live a bit easier than mouse clicking.

The big transport optionally has a 12-key number pad that you can click to nav to the first 12 markers.

But as far as I know there's no way to nav markers from the keyboard other than on a next/prev basis. Wish there was.

Hold shift + press page up or page down. Jumps you instantly from marker to marker.

An even handier method, which I use for big projects with lots of markers, is to open the marker window and drag it over to my second screen. Then it's just a click to jump around, as long as I've given my markers useful descriptions. Much easier than trying to remember which number it is.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Ah right I forgot about the marker view, BF.

An alternative to the marker view that I use is to have the marker toolbar open... it's got a dropdown with all the markers. If you position it at the VERY top of the window, even above the menu row and over the Window''s title bar, you can scoot up to it really fast.

Those are the two best ways to quickly navigate non-sequential markers in Sonar. Like BF says, it's much easier than trying to remember numbers, especially if you keep adding and deleting markers.

I actually keep the transport's marker keypad hidden.... takes up too much room for the limited use it actually has, IMV.

Marker enhancements are always near the top of my wish list.

This is where Sonar's Keyboard Bindings feature is very handy -- If you don't like the default Ctl-PageUp/PageDown (btw, did you check the Keyboard shortcuts page in the Help menu?), you can make it whatever key or key combination that you wish.

Well, it seems Sonar users used to be without ability to navigate markers (in manner mentioned in my first post)

I still think that it's very handful: you don't use mouse to navigate, ONLY keyboard. And this is very effective and quick way to work!

Hope in future versions SONAR will provide this ability. Or at least ability to define new shortcuts to navigate markers by keyboard (one more time: I know about "next/prev marker" shortcuts, but I need another one).

1+ to let you assign a key binding to a marker.
