Should I delete my current Melodyne single track before download?

I know Sonar will provide a serial number (for Melodyne single track)  with the purchase of X3. I don't want to lose the one I've bought. If I delete it, Sonar won't recognize it, and I should be able to register the new one and have the old one in my melodyne account right? I'm thinking it would make the download or install smoother. Am I making it to complicated? I would like to be able to sell or transfer my other Melodyne serial number.

Thanks, but I've read that and doesn't really answer my question. Thanks anyway though.

No, I just installed X3 and I have Melodyne editor..... all you need to do is make sure you have the latest version of 2.1 and it will be there based upon your iLOK registration....

Let Melodyne install via X3 and just insert Melodyne in an audio track and it should be your current version....

No need to  delete or uninstall your current version as long as you have the 2.1. The install of Melodyne has the code for all versions, it is your iLOK version that determines your features.

I download X3 last night and did a custom install. I updated to the new version of Melodyne last week.  I unchecked the box to install melodyne essentials. My melodyne single track was scanned no problems.

Thanks for the info, but it's still not my question. Let's say I uninstall melodyne completely from my system. Then I buy and install Sonar X3 producer with the included Melodyne. Will I then have two license of Melodyne in my Melodyne account? Thanks and excuse my poor communication.

I have to ask, why do you want to do that? What version of Melodyne do you have now? Is the version that comes with X3 an upgrade?  This might help answer your question more directly.

No. I have the same thing that comes with the upgrade purchase. Melodyne Singletrack 2.1. I'm paying for both and I want to keep both. I can sell one or transfer one to a friend. I think I will just delete it before I upgrade and see what happens. I'll probably wait a bit anyway.

You would have to contact Celemony about that question.

Last year I purchased Studio One (which has the bundled Melodyne Essentials).  I also had a second license of Melodyne Essentials.   I eventually upgraded the second license to Editor, but for awhile, I had two separate Essentials licenses.  As Noel commented, the best way to keep track of this is via Celemony's site.  Once you log in to your account, all of your licenses will show up separately, each with its own serial number.

BTW, the downloaded Melodyne file will show as "Melodyne Singletrack", regardless of whether it's Essentials, Assistant, Editor, etc.  (Your serial number determines what version to install).

I'm about to install X3, so I expect to have a third Melodyne license soon.

Thanks jonD! I've got mine for sale at KVR now. I see no reason to have two. Worst case I would give it to someone who could use it.

Well, I needed to check my iLOK licenses for Melodyne and SONAR (I own EDITOR 2.1)... I had to check my iLOK account to see if version 2.1 was there... iLOK now has an APP to manage your iLOK instead of going to their website.  I liked it and wouldn't have even known about it if it wasn't for this version of SONAR... made it a breeze to just fire up MELODYNE in an audio track and see it do its magic without crashing SONAR... this ARA thing is pretty cool.
