Should I get a VS-700?

I'm planning to buy the VS-700 and I'd really like to know
how well it's working with Sonar X1d.

I've seen much about this in other threads, but I'd really like
to gather your opinions about this in one thred.

As we all know the vs-700 isn't very new any more..

My simple question is:
Should I get the vs-700 (both 700C and 700R) or should
I wait and see if something new is on it's way?

My spontanious feeling is that the VS-700 has become VERY priceworthy
and if it works well, even with all the new features in Sonar X1, it's almost
strange that not every single Sonar-user already have one..
