Should I scratch the vocal samples from this tune?
I used vocal clips from Dimension Pro to bridge some of the transitions in this song, starting around 1:40. In hindsight, it sounds artificial to my ear. What do you think: Should I keep or delete? Link to SoundCloud

I don't think they add much to the track to be honest. This is splendid stuff, love it. Top notch piano playing and the bass is sublime. I half expected 'Locomotive Breath' to come in after the intro mind you..

LoL, thanks James. I love Locomotive Breath. I think I will drop the vocals -- sounds too canned upon further listening. Appreciate your thoughts. -- cw

Excellent playing. The vocals didn't add or take away from the song IMO. But with no lyrics they seem out of place. But that's just traditional thinking. The sound effects made me think, 'what is this?' (again traditional thinking). But who am I to judge such an excellent piano player?

Thanks chasmcg. I hadn't thought about the sound effects detracting from the piece. Maybe I'll strip those out as well and substitute in some strings as a transition. Thanks again for your comments.

IMO the vocals are distracting from the feel of the song. The piano is great! I like this song! Thanks for posting it!

Hi cwestmont, Cool song and great playing. The bass and drums are nice but someone who plays as well as you doesn't really need the effects and/or vocals. Still sounds fantastic, tho...

I actually like the vocal samples but because it never develops into actually having a vocalist on this tune I say dump them.

Nice plucking of the ivories.... perhaps adding incidental sax or jazz guitar with the trumpet. I agree with Alkie, if you had a real person scatting it would probably work, though.

The music itself doesn't require any vocals I feel. Adding a real singer would interfere with the instrumentation. Interesting ramp of instruments in this composition. Nice work!

Thanks for everyone's comments. I deleted the vocals and the sound effects as most folks suggest and re-posted as a different tune: A Deafening Silence I still want to redo the improv at the end, but appreciate the feedback. Very helpful.
