Should I take the plunge and upgrade to Windows 8 ?

go for it!

if your use of sonar is mission vritical in any way then yoh need a secure fallback position.
as has been stated having hardware drivers available is paramount.
i dont think w:8 brings any real benefits as tbis time.
i bought the $40 upgrades for all my machines but havent insralled yet. i know the dat wull come when i will upgrade so ive secured the.cheapest path

I do not know about the special $14.95 upgrade for recent purchasers of Win 7 computers. My understanding is that what you get is a coupon code to enter in the regular $39.95 upgrade site. If that is the case then you can presumably delay the actual upgrade by just downloading the installer stub to your computer and not running it until you are ready. Or better yet save the installation as an ISO that you can use it later (and probably on a different PC as well). In either case if you ever plan to upgrade the time to buy the upgrade is now.

Thanks for the feedback guys.  I'm not worried about the drivers since it's Roland stuff - I checked and they're available.  As far as dual boot is concerned, that sounds a little to much for a bear of very little brain!

I'm interested by those saying there are very few benefits.  I understood there were performance benefits to be had using X2 under Windows 8?  Anyone had any experience of this?
