Should we use MMCSS (Vista) with Windows 7?

Under options/audio/advanced there's the radio button to use MMCSS (Vista).
I know Win 7 is an improved Vista so not sure if this should be checked in Win 7.
I'm starting to get a few minor pops and thought I should ask before getting in there and mucking things up and then not remember what I mucked up.
Thanks very much,
Randy

I'm guessing yes after reading this...and assuming Win 7 also has it.

    Randy,
Just moved to Win7 and was wondering about that myself. It is checked by default when Sonar installs so I've just left it.
    Opinions?

Try disabling it to see what happens...You can always re-enable it if you run into problems...Basically it's a Multimedia controller that manages CPU priorities in multimedia threading...

I believe that Noel mentions it in his "sticky" post about SONAR 8.5 that S8 has been optimized to take advantage of MMCSS

MMCSS lets you answer a Skype call while you're recording. Who wouldn't want that?

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I don't want it...I turn off all my phones when I'm recording!

Try it both on or off. Some machines it will speed up greatly, others it will slow down greatly.
