Too many items bought this month!

Cubase 10 Pro upgrade

I'd be curious to know what the upgrade is like. Worth the price?...

I like the new flattened look, add new track dialog is much better. Plug in management alal Studio One on the right panel is improved. The new side chain workflow also vastly improved. Groove Agent 5 SE has a new kit. Other features I haven't used yet but look good are mixer snapshots and auto align (like a light version of revoice pro).

Also ARA 2 support is coming to Cubase 10

I have sold my soul and I am ashamed :( Now before me hard work to earn some money not to let my bank to make me cry :(

But I will do some confessions to other GAS addicted bodies :) And it will be opportunity for myself to check what I have done and think why... :)

Mercurial SS-11X (nice thing, after some tests just bought instantly)
BIAS Amp2 Pro (amps impressive, but don't like distortion stomps even not close a real things I know)
Embertone Lite piano (probably (?) don't need but how to resist 7GB piano for 10$? :(
Cynematrix (just few bugs, almost free)
Izotope Stutter Edit+BreakTweaker (well some crazy effects to my normal things)
Mixcheck (don't planned, but noticed good deal so well)
Phil Allen production bundle course (I like this guy)
bx_bassdude (in fact I am not fan of it but with voucher it was with VAT ~6$ :(
Kush virt DI (tested some Kush cheaper things and this one matched my attempts with DI sound)
VocAlign Pro upg (well, it seems to be more accurate and have more powerful algorithm than project, and eaiser to use with many tracks)
Sonivox companion things (cheap VSTis how not to buy)
Softube Tape (months ago tested and was not convinced but it integrates so nice with S1 )

and the worst (for my budget)
I found buying in Sweden I can grab Slate ML-1 BF not be ruined by transport cost and VAT things so even with VMS one it was very tempting offer (still exists if anybody cares)

and some small things I cannot identify yet on my account because of lack meaningful description :(

My God, cannot believe it, it was the most ruined BF for my budget ever :(
will see how many of those toys will make me happy not only when deal grabbing but also in use...

Regards,
Piotr

East West cinematic strings (Play included)
Embertone Walker Concert Lite - $10 can't go wrong.
I resisted nearly everything else as I'd already got 3 Ujam packs earlier in the year (which I can honestly say, I have not touched) & lots of iZotope packs (which were worth every penny).
I also splashed out on a Behringer C1 (€26 Amazon) and I've put down a payment on Behringer B2 (not currently in stock but listed on Amazon for €104, so hopefully they will respect that price s it's €50 cheaper than anywhere else.)
something I discovered is that decent mics never go on offer.

Cakewalk by Bandlab, Sonar Platinum Lifetimer, Windows 10, HP Laptop, CPU i5, RAM 8GB. Audio interface: Edirol FA-101 Firewire interface with moded drivers. Microphones: Audio-Technica, M-Audio, Behringer, AKG. Pianos: Casio digital, Yamaha B1 upright.  Guitars: Dobro, Tanglewood, Danelectro, Fender. Hats: Fez

Kilohearts The Works upgrade
...

I thought you had that already

Demo'd faturator, disperser and One, but decided to pass. Faturator didn't sound as good s I hoped, disperser was fun, One was too limited with modulation, with just 3 slots. Shame, because Snap and Multi are great and seem really underated.

Nope, one missing (Faturator).
Upgrade was only $11 so I went for it.
At least that Flatyourater will be good for stereo and thickening.

I got a bunch of upgrades (Cubase 10), none of which really excite me.  But I did get two odd for me things:  Hardware.  lol.

Upgraded to Sonarworks Reference Studio (from the headphone version) and got the XREF20 mic (sent from Latvia because it turned out the best price, shipped really fast too)

And a Moog EP-3 Expression Pedal.  So now I can ride the "volume/mod wheel" with my foot.

Interesting thing on the mic, while I was waiting for the Sonarworks mic to arrive I did the full test with a cardioid mic I have, using the no-calibration option.  The mic is a Sontronics STC-1, but I don't have (or couldn't find) the omni capsule which would have been more useful I think.  Comparing the curves they aren't all that different.  I think you might be able to get reasonable room results even without a reference curve for the mic.  Which means you might be able to use the IK Arc Mems mic with no calibration curve on the Sonarworks software.

Jury is still out on if it really helps my office.  To be honest I wasn't vastly impressed, sounded ok before, sounded ok after.  Mostly added a bunch of low boost, guess I have no bass.

zPlane provides technologies to several DAWs for their features.  It's a pretty savvy, but small business.

This product may look a couple years dated, but it is still ahead of other current products.  Really a good one.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

Sonarworks is based in Latvia I think.  The DHL shipping on the mic was funny, it bounced all through Europe to get here.  What was scary was how fast it got here.  Ordered it over Thanksgiving weekend, it got here Friday.  The Sonarworks mic isn't that bad, I could see using it on some instruments maybe as an extra pickup.

Man, that reminds me. I once taught a course at the Uni of Lapland in Rovaniemi, Finland. Crazy place at the Polar Circle. Even declared itself home of Santa Claus (with a working Santa Claus post office). Only ate raindeer and salmon. A sauna in every apartment. A long border shared with Russia and typical Russian-style shops with lots of empty shelves. Except vodka. Lots of vodka.

I snagged one of these (with the latest bluetooth upgrade) while the price was reduced:

I'm gonna use it to set up the drum mics.

They misspelled funk. But being able to measure the amount of Funk Units will be very useful on live drums and bass.

The 'Clear off!' button is also great for out of tune players.

I just heard back from Positive Grid, Larry - I had a similar issue to you with the price reverting back to normal price when changing the discount codes and they are going to issue me a refund after I submit payment. Hope it works out at your end, too.  Didn't think I would hear back from them based on your experience thus far but less than 24 hours later, Mike from support sent me a note.

I picked up this ProaudioStar deal JBL 308P MKII Bundle that was advertised about 3 weeks ago. The speakers and stands are most excellent in my room. Also splurged on the complete FabFilter collection at a price I thought was the lowest I had seen in a year directly from their website. Just starting to explore that whole bundle. Oh, plus a 1 terabyte wd ssd from Newegg for $130, although dealing with NewEgg required some hoops of fire and eventually a couple of direct calls to prove I was a real person. LOL!! So now for some music!! I just have to stop checking in on this deal section long enough to pluck a few strings.

CbB latest incarnation, Focusrite Scarlett (2nd generation), WIN10 1809 build,  , MCU pro , Yamaha Motif classic 6 , focusrite ASA one
