Show/hide all Take Lanes

My loathing of Take Lanes crops up again. Every once in a while, I'll inadvertently do something to make all track show their take lanes. It's like Sonar is purposely trying to antagonize me, I can hear it snickering in the background. How does this happen, and is there some keystroke or command to hide Take Lanes in all tracks at once? I select all tracks and try to hide Take Lanes, but of course that doesn't work, that's too obviously the way it should work.

Editorial side note: I do apologize for ranting so unequivocally about Take Lanes on this forum, but really, fully 90% of my frustrations with Sonar are due to that one horribly executed feature. I'm not normally this angry about Sonar, but Take Lanes are just so awful in so many ways.

I.m with you in as much as most of my issues with Sonar continue to be about Lanes...

This is one of a multitude of problems that arise for me...

Right now I'm hoping someone will chime in with the elusive command to hide all lanes as I battled with it yesterday when they (magically?) opened for all tracks...

My bigger issue with them are the zoom limitations.

I have constant need to edit clips in the lane view... Trying to set clip gain envelopes is a royal pain being too short to have good vertical adjustment resolution ...and of course, they don't get small enough to show many on screen simultaneously...

I spend more time readjusting views than I do any actual work due to Lane limitations...

I agree...I liked the way the tracks used to work in earlier versions...if I recorded over a vocal on the same track, I could just expand it and the expanded tracks were just like any other track...I wish you could click a button to make a track operate with the take lane system, but not use it if you don't have to

If you're referring to Layers vs. Lanes, I'm in total agreement. The Lane versions are very pretty, but not as functional... Larger MSR buttons... Xtra buttons.... and a ton of space "dedicated" to notes.... Do so many people really need to write so many notes for each take/lane? I have rarely used it at all...

Layers had it's issues for sure, but the most important in my work were far easier and more "complete"...

I could stop my most constant complaints with the simple lifting of the zoom limits on Lanes!

Regarding notes for take lanes, I used them for the first time yesterday. I discovered that Ctrl-click dragging the take lane to another track, the notes don't go along with the take lane. A minor thing, but it would have been nice if my notes had appeared in the new track where I'll be using it.
