Walmart calls BOTH OF US! I apologize for not giving you the big wet kiss you felt you so richly deserved. Sometimes people will say "hey great job! I loved it!", sometimes people will say, "I liked it, but then give comments about the mix", sometimes people will say, "this wasn't my favorite from you", and sometimes people will say, "get off your lazy rear and listen and comment on something other than what you have done!" It makes none of them wrong or right? It's all subjective, it is all opinion? Why is it so difficult for you to see the intrinsic logic in this?

You're obviously one of those trigger-happy types without any respect .... you even chose to extend your 'comments' that to another potser from the UK....

Wow............ i'm in shock - NOT

So what is REALLY funny is the fact that;

1. HAHA You freak out when I call you on the fact that you have 385 posts and "zerrrrrrro" on ANY music other than you own. Which is my right to say.

2. You respond with righteous indignation, and state that "oh I'm sorry, I didn't know there was a songs forum" LOL! And oh! I'm gonna contribute and say good things about a bunch of music, just you wait and see! LOL!

3. You've responded STILL to nothing, you've contributed STILL to nothing, other than a large negative connotation probably from the majority of others here who work hard to create music, and also listen and comment on others music. So my original assessment stands "correct". And you continue to prove my points. Amazing!

My last post on this thread, let’s see who else bumps it ;-)

I can't comment/listen to tracks at work (due to hardware restrictions) by i can post text.

I'm actually really looking forward to listneing to tha tracks on here as soon as i'm able........

Paul,

Great track, I think the sounds you use are perfect and it has inspired me to pull out my Project 5 Power! book this weekend and look again at this great software, I have been concentrating on Sonar 7 PE for months now but I think P5 rewired may get me quicker to the sounds in my head. (It's the voices in the head you have to watch out for, right? lol ) Some great arps in there, did you use the P5 arps?

Thanks Garry! Your feedback is greatly appreciated

Project 5 is, IMO, the best software for midi/vst production which is a thought shared on the P5 forum. Unfortunately, it's future is not clear at present but you should definately investigate further. It's speed of workflow is incredible and just so logical.

The ARP is courtesy of Sylenth1.... it's a straightforward 'up arp' so nothing too fancy.

Peace indeed.

I like. :-) Well done. Everything sounds good here.

I see Robby is off the medicine again. Every now and then (like many of us) his Jekyll turns to Hyde.

However, things will always get nasty if you reply with things like "idiot" (don't get me wrong, I have felt that way with some people myself). Worse yet, then going and acting just as foolish in Robby's thread does not look very good on ya.

It is best when confronted with something unpleasant is to take the higher ground publicly and then go into your sound proof vocal booth and scream.

Not familiar with Kraftwerk Paul, so I hope it doesn't matter... I like what I'm hearing so far. There are a lot of twists & turns in this piece that keep it interesting. Like the arp effects used on this. I think this is well composed and played and I'm sure a lot of sweat went into this... I like those little jazzy sounding lines added.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Nice composition, good choices on the tonalites, good clear mix. Very period. Kudos. Very cool, always have enjoyed Kraftwerk(& Depeche Mode too). Highly danceable.

Nice tune,

I don't get the Kraftwerk comparison though.

I associate that band with a stronger rhythmic pulse while this tune seems more melody based.

I would suggest that a die-hard Kraftwerk fan might immediately sense a difference and as such I'd suggest you work towards focusing your vision of what you are into rather than assuming that because it uses similar orchestration that it should be compared to Kraftwerk on that basis.

Does that make any sense?

best,
mike

Makes sense to me, Mike, and I'm inclined to agree.
I'm only somewhat familiar with Kraftwerk, and I tend to associate them with a more "machine" sound.
This is just a bit on the heavy side of what I might expect from Jarre'. That's not a bad thing, as I like his style.
Nice movement in this, Prevalence. I like the variations in the synths as it moves along.
I've had P5 on the back burner for a while. Need to dig into that one day.

It doesn't sound as much like Kraftwerk at the beginning as it does after about 1:05 (where the "blues" riff comes in). I'm sure he doesn't want to do a pure impersonation, but certainly the beat and the "robot voice" are very Kraftwerk-like.

Thanks for the listen guys... glad you liked it!

Mike/Robert - your comments are fair. This track is not a complete Kraftwerk emulation. There are elements of Gary Numan and Depeche Mode too IMO. If i wanted to re-create a Kraftwerk track entirely i would have done a cover version of one of their originals. So i guess this is a mashed-up early 80's electro track..... but, if there is one single artist in particular with whom this is similar, I would say Kraftwerk. Not that i'm for one moment suggesting that this is anywhere near their standard

AJ_0000 - they rule indeed mate!!

Thanks again for taking the time to comment.... it shows that you guys 'listen hard'

The mix sounded real good to me. I think you did an excellent job.
And yes, I would say "Kraftwerk Style"
This talk about Kraftwerk just goes to show how unique and recognizable and influential their music was.
They certainly did have some great melodies, chord changes, riffs. ("ComputerLove=Coldplay-"Talk")
Good Mix.

Thanks mate.... very welcome indeed

I couldn't agree more about Kraftwerk's infulence.... you could argue that they are responsible for shaping modern-day electronic dance music. Infact all electro dance music!

Mr Jarre and Tangerine Dream never had a real 'dance feel' in the mid/late 70's, only Kraftwerk had that.

Paul, welcome to the song forum. Glad you found us. Nice tune, nice work. Be advised that I am the current Walmart parking lot title holder and Robby is the presumptive 'top contender'. So if you wanna mess with Robby, you do so at your own peril. I don't want to scare you but I'm on a first name basis with nearly every Walmart associate here in Guymon, Oklahoma. And... cauliflower ears and headphones don't mix (if you get my meaning).

Robby, don't make me have to come all they way to Georgia to defend my title.
