nice work, Mike! the bass sounds "dull" to me. it needs some "cojones" - I'd try boosting it in the 80 to 90Hz area and maybe add a transient shaper to it. love the shredding!

Wow! For about a minute and a half I was transported back (ahead?) in time and felt like a kid on the night before Christmas. Nice arrangement and performance. Happy Thanksgiving.

Geno - Thank you. The drums were Addictive Drums sounds Beagle - Thanks for the suggestion. I had two bass tracks, one direct and one miced, the direct one was really compressed, I'll try mixing in more mic and see how that works out. Thanks for the suggestion Lynn - Thanks for the listen. Glad you enjoyed it, sorry for posting Xmas before Thanksgiving, but I didn't know any good Thanksgiving songs to cover :) Happy Thanksgiving to you as well

Nice playing. You have the light dancing fingers I could never master. I have to hurt my guitar to make it do anything desirable. The guitar sound at the start is a little thin. Once you get to the Rudolf part it's much more present. Just what I'm hearing. Cheers.

Is Bob-Shredding your new hobby/sport? Does that even exist? You could copyright and petition it to become one! Xmas present for you? Seems like you already have your gift!! The "unusual" duet was a nice touch, too

Beepster - Thank you for the listen and feedback, I probably thinned out the guitars to cover up all the mistakes :) Daryl - Thanks for the listen and feedback, I figured it might be too early. But, given my lack of free time lately, if I didnt do it now, it might come out around Easter Time Scotty - Thanks for the listen and feedback. If I lit up your Ipad on guitar, I cant imagine what it does with your fiddle licks! Rus - Holy #$%$^! Bob-Shredding! Yes! The name of my Xmas album! (With your permission of course) Thanks for the listen and feedback Robby - Thanks for the listen. I knew I had to get this out quickly, before you posted your christmas tunes. Once your rendition of Drummer Boy gets posted, no one will pay any mind to my little thingamadoodad.

Inspiration strikes anywhere/anytime! Well, they are hard to come by from some (this includes me!) Sure thing. Of course, if your name was Bob ... that may or not be pushing it. Glad I could help in that area! (Maybe I'm late saying this, but nice medley)

Frank - Thank you for the listen and compliment. I actually had a more "shredding" version, but toned it down for more appeal to the masses. Makke - Thank you for the listen and compliment Bob - Thank you for the listen and compliments. My rock mixes arent yet, rockin Bob Oister level, but I'm trying! (It's also easier to mix when there's no vocals to get in the way of our guitar solo's!) James - Thank you sir! Marcus - Thank you, I'm glad the mix didn't horribly offend anyone's systems! I'm still up in the air about the guitar tone I used.....ah well. Next Christmas will be a re-do!

Robby - Is that like the old "I only hit you because I love you" line? ...wow, flashbacks of my ex-girlfriend. ..(just kidding, she didn't hit me...too often) Daryl - Thank you for the listen and compliment. This is actually a debut of sorts of my drumming. I played some parts, used loops on other parts, and spent alot of time manually fixing the midi from my live drumming, lol. In hindsite, using loops for the whole thing probably would of been better, just less fun

Really enjoyed this, Mike. Not shreddy at all and very well done and tasty! This is a really good take. One little subjective crit that stuck out to me as well. Agree with Beeps on the lead being just a bit thin. I don't even know if "thin" is the right way to describe it because it definitely has some "goirth" as I say here in NJ (that's girth to everyone else lol) but I'd say maybe low pass it a bit so it's a little less trebly maybe, then you of course will need to raise the level a bit. But that's about it brother...really enjoyed this, awesome job! Drums, bass and everything else sounded fine to me too. I never liked AD, but man, you sure made these sound terrific! Way to go Mike! -Danny

Danny - thanks a ton for the feedback. I write and record so many different styles of music, I never really sit down and work out guitar tones for each style. As you can tell, it's something I should spent a bit of time on. Your lead tone was great on the song you just posted with Philip. Incidentally, I used to play in coverbands and used a POD for my live sound. Every cover we learned, I tried to match that bands guitar tone real close. Many times I succeded, but when it comes to my own tones, I get real lazy. Thanks again

Some people pay good money for that? I was saying I hate you because I've played guitar all my life, but I'll never play like this. Some people just have an extra dimension to their talent which allows them to do things that most others cannot. I have an extra dementia to my talent :-(

Many times I succeded, but when it comes to my own tones, I get real lazy. Thanks again No problem Mike. Yeah I know how much you dive into all different styles. It's awesome you do so well with them too. You tones were good on this, honest. I just have this thing (and it very well could be my sensitive ears) where I always try to warm up my lead tones so that they don't pierce or cut as much as my rhythm tones. I don't like my lead tones too chocolatey warm....a little bite is cool, but I hear this sort of....hmmm...the frequency is so high, I can't even type what it sounds like. But this certain high end thing just hits me a certain way when a lead tone has a bit too much bite in it. You were sort of on the border line there. But it did get a bit warmer as the song went on. I try to low pass my lead tones anywhere from 6k to 9k depending on the song, key and feel I'm looking for. It just takes that little bit of rasp out of the tone that we get from using high gain. Thanks again for the kind words on our song, glad you liked the tone there. Great job once again brother. :) -Danny

I have to agree with some of the other comments, in that the guitar was a bit thin. Originally I thought it was just the type of distortion used on the guitar, but I decided to turn it louder and then I realized its not so much thin as it is narrow. I would push the layers wider while leaving the primary lead centered. Otherwise, its sounds really tight.
