Shure KSM27?

have a friend who wants a good mic for $300? Is that possible? Have you heard of the Shure KSM27? Thanks for your help. I only have hi-end mics so can't give a professional opinion.

Michael, My brother has this mic . In comparing with my Studio Projects C1 I thought it was a much smoother, natural sounding mic. I was using a behringer 1604a mixer
for my test. ( I do like my C1 though)
    Hope this helps some.

I assume from the context, you're looking for a large diaphram condensor. Obviously the SM57 is a pro mic for well under $100, but suited better for instruments and amps than vocals.

I like the KSM27 a lot. I have it and the C1 David mentioned (around $200). I think the Shure is a little flatter, though it still does have a boost in the highs. Both are very good mics, especially for the price.
