Sidechain w midi kick - some kicks disappear after a while??

Hey

I posted this in wrong thread (8.5) so perhaps I have better luck here...

I have started a new project, where I inserted a Roland Groovesynth with a MG1 blip as a kick (midi) on a 4/4). I want to use the midi kick as a Sidechain for other tracks and buses. It start out good, but after a while some of my kicks disappear, let's say 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, - -, 10, 11, - etc. very irregular. I don't understand this behavior. There seem to be no reason for it.

If only running the "Sidechain kick track" it seem ok, I can play the kick nice and solid. However, after sending or routing the signal to another buses or tracks the behavior above happens.

I have tried different VSTi and both internal compressors and several 3 party (Waves, PSP, Alloy2, The glue, etc)
Any ideas?
I am running Sonar X3c Producer, windows 8.1, 64 bit. All drivers are up to date.

The only time this has happened to me, the solution was tinkering with the threshold, attack and release

Try increasing your Prepare Using buffer for MIDI to 500ms in Preferences. The new default of 250 is too low for some systems, and can result in dropped MIDI notes - whether driving a sidechain or not.

If increasing the buffers does not fix the problem, try freezing the synth as a workaround.

Ok, will try this...

However, I got a brand new DAW with i7 3770K Processor 3.5 Ghz, 16 Mb RAM and SSD. shouldn't this be enough?

In this case size does not matter. For many, including those with really powerful machines, the buffer is just too small.
