Sidechaining Kick and Bass

A touch of it in rock n roll is ok.

Don't be afraid.

It's really cool.

Everyone should be using it a little.

I sometimes cheat and use a different kick to trigger the side chain to the one you actually hear.

    Does that make me anarkick?

Maybe a sidekick, but definitely not a psychic.

I read about sidechaining once and almost understood it.

    Does that count?

Someone has a new piece in the songs forum, but there's no side-chaining in it either.  But thanks for the idea!

Mooch uses a bicycle side car chain to kick a fish?

What'll he come up with next?

    Ducking?

I'm with you Janet.  I came to this thread thinking I would find an explanation of what it is and why I might want to do it... other, of course, than the fact that 'sidechaining' sounds cool to say.

Phil!  Hey, Phil!  Open your eyes, man!  Don't panic, but you're in the Coffee House.  The Techniques forum is up one floor and down the hall past the Mime Defense League office.  If you go in and everyone seems to be stuck in an invisible box, you're probably in the wrong room (again).
