Signos (Signs)

Hello everybody!!

I would like to hear your opinions and comments on this mix.

It's a cover that I did to pay tribute to my main influence, Gustavo Cerati.
He is one of the most influential artist in Latin American Rock and has been in coma for one year now.

I'am doing this project with covers that influenced me through the years and I'd like to respect the essence of the songs as much as possible but give the production a modern touch. I played all the instruments and and sung.

Thanks in advance for your comments

Lots of nice work here.  Like the boom type effects in the beginning of the song.  The drums get a little boring and need more variation.  Nice use of percussion.  Didn't understand a word of the song.  Vocals could be brought up a tad.  Then, if I understood Spanish, it would be perfect.  Nice work.

Thanks for listening BretB, I know the drums get a little bit boring at some point but trying to respect the original version as much as possible I let them unchanged.

I like the way the arrangement starts very simple and builds through the song with more instruments and textures.

I'll try your vocals up a tad suggestion for sure!!

    Thanks again!!

    Hi Sonico

I agree with BretB about the vocals - seem to be a bit drowned by the instrumentation. Overall, it's a great song. My only other feeling on the mix is that it seems to be a bit one-sided. By this I mean that most of it seems to be coming out of one speaker! Might be worth having a look at your panning to see if you can broaden the mix a bit as, at least to my untutored ear, it sounds like some of the instrument frequencies are interfering with each other. Broadening the mix will give you a more crystal clear sound and better definition and separation to each instrument.

    Best Regards
    Malcolm
