Silly question about reloading X1...

I had to completely reload Windows 7 and am in the process of reinstalling X1 (man, it's times like this I wish I had a Mac...).

I have reinstalled (from disc) all elements of X1 Producer, and I still have the patches (thanks to the external hard drive). I know the order, as well: X1c, Producer Expanded, then - finally - X1d. My silly question is: will I need to reboot the system after each patch is installed?

(Thanks in advance for not turning to your buddy and muttering "Man, what an idiot.")

What happened to your Windows 7 that caused you to have to reload it? Reloading the OS is a drastic measure. Do you think Macs never have problems?

No you don't have to reboot after each patch is installed. Even if you did, Windows 7 on my computer takes about 40 seconds. Not bad.

Hey, Dave - thanks for the quick reply.

No, I don't think Macs never have any problems, it was just a comment on my extensive troubles with Windows over the years (and a remark I KNEW I should leave out as soon as I typed it, but I couldn't stop myself...)

Gradually - over a period of 2 or 3 weeks - various elements of Windows would just reach the hateful stage of "Not Responding" and then not allow me to close them by way of the Task Manager. I tried EVERY other way of resolving the problem before resorting to a full factory-default re-install, trust me.

Again, thanks - the computer has had to be rebooted so many times during this process (including 67 Windows Updates, 51 of them "Important"), that skipping rebooting three times can't hurt anything!
