Silver Bells - Tpt + Jazz Guitar
Been working on my guitar shell voicings the last two or three days (I'm not a guitarist... only started taking it seriously about 3 weeks ago) and this morning I managed to eek out what seems to me to be a cool, simple little arrangement of "Silver Bells". Just recorded in a little bit ago, didn't have my real trumpet or my flugel which I would've preferred but it was just for the fun of it. https://soundcloud.com/da...ls-trumpet-guitar-duet Lots of you guys are guitarists, any must-learn shell voicings? Right now I'm working just on my 3-note root-based fingerings and having LOADS of fun with it.

That's really nice David. I like hearing what you're up to, it's always interesting and different. 'Shell voicings'..I've never heard of that. Yet another gap in my musical knowledge

Guitar sounds good to me. Got that rolled off highs jazz sound. Trumpet sounds great! Nice version of this Christmas tune!
