Good cover guys. I had the pleasure of hearing Paul Rodgers doing this a few years back, really like this song. Robby's vocals give it a nice fragile quality.

Robby;

Your vocals sound great and different. You should sing in this register more often.
I have never heard this song before. But it sounds well put together.

Warren - Thanks for the comment, I am glad to hear the bottom end is under control, I have spent a lot of time working on that aspect of mixing, it seems when your bottom end is right then everything else falls into place too.

STinGA - Thanks for listening. Glad you found it comparable to the original. The drums are all MIDI samples, through Superior Drummer. I usually lay out the basic beat with MIDI Clips to cover the basics and then add my own articulations, fills, etc.. They sound pretty realistic.

Wookiee/John - Thanks for the listen. Appreciate it.

Tim - I hear that loud piano now, funny how those things can slip by you by about your 100th listen through the song. I will have to fix that.

Guitarpima - Thanks for that. I think this version is a bit looser than the original. I agree that fretless sounds great. I will have to HP the tom when I fix the piano level.

Bat - Thanks for the listen, one of my facorite BC songs too, right up there with Shooting Star. Glad you liked it.

Cian - I will have to fix that piano, two strikes on that one;) Thanks for the comment.

James - Thanks for the comment.  Paul Rogers is one of my favorite singers though I have never seen him live except on YouTube.   Bet he was awesome live.   Great voice.

JamesYoYo - Thanks for the listen.   Robby is a vocal chamelean for sure, I think this one was pretty close to his "natural voice"   I agree it was a good vocal performance.

I can cram so much vocal talent up your? Well, let's just say? It's good to have a wide breath of vocals styles to apreciate? (Except Yoko Onohhhh....) That woman sucks...

I'm sorry for that right there Lordl.. And please be with the Pygmymies in New Guinnie.

Never heard the song before today. Performances vocals and instruments were top notch. Not sure which mix I think is better. Both have elements that I prefer.

Mark is a very talented engineer... If I do manage a half way decent mix? I usually just luck in to it. I try different things each time... I'm finally trying to settle down with it some and trying to do some things that people I respect do and have told me about how to improve my mixing. But Mark is definately a top flight mixing engineer, and musician. I am lucky to have the opportunity to colaborate with him.

Excellent job guys.  One of my favourite bands of that era and style.  The mix and performance all sound great to me, and Robbie you knocked me out on the vocal.
Terrific stuff!

Grant - Thanks for stopping by for a listen.   I think both mixes have elements that are good.   We actually recorded the song in A, which is the key of my mix.   Robby's mix is in the original Bad Company key of Ab (they tuned down 1/2 step) so the song is slightly slower in his mix.   When I hear his mix I automatically think it is BC because it is in the original key:)  Glad you like it.

Freddy - Thanks for the comment.   This was a great era for music without a doubt.   Growing up in the 70's we all took the good music for granted not knowing what the 2000's would bring;(.    The vox totally make the song.   I would say he hit at least a Triple on this performance;)

Thanks Daryl, I know you have good ears.   I really liked your recent Carribbean song, that was a great song.

Thanks to everyone who listened and to everyone that commented.   On to the next one, and hopefully a better mix:  They have to keep getting better.....thx for the boost.

Regards
