Simple Instrument Tracks

I posted this on the techniques forum, but I'm thinking there might be more traffic here.

I'm using simple instrument tracks, but I can't export the whole thing as an mp3. It says it contains no audio. Do I have to bounce all the tracks to audio first?  Man, I hope not...

I told you that Instrument tracks were not good!

I don't use them, but they shouldn't behave that way at all.  did you select one and hit CTRL -A on the keyboard so that all tracks would be selected before you tried to export?  if not try that.

how many do you have?  check your synth rack and make sure you have one instance of each synth for each instrument track.

I vaguely remember that.  But boy, are they ever nice to use!  15 tracks and it's all useful stuff...not a lot of other tracks cluttering up the place.

OK, that worked, but why does ctrl A work and my normal way of selecting them all doesn't? (select one and double click on it.)  That doesn't make any sense to me.

But anyway, it worked.  Thank you!

don't know.  might be something screwy with the way the instrument tracks are done.

    K. Thanks!  I never would have thought of that!  I posted this upstairs too.  I'm curious to see if I get any other answers or if this is a normal occurrence.  Getting ready to post it now. :-)
