Since Gloucester all my CWB's now start with a "Unpack Bundle" dialogue ?
And I can't find any way to turn it off. Supposedly there is a place to check/uncheck "Store Audio In Per Project Folders" in Edit>Preferences>Audio but I show no place to choose or not choose that behaviors.
Not a show stopper but sort of a pain and started with Gloucester update...

A cwb is a bundle file (essentially all project files in one). When opening these they always need to be unpacked. It is highly recommended to use cwp (project files) and "Per Project Audio Folders" (Preferences->File->Audio Data (at the bottom of that page)), since there is no overhead of compressing/uncompressing during saves or risk of a bundle becoming corrupt.
ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.

Thx . I'm familiar with CWBs (been using them since they were called something else WAY back when in Pro Audio days)with zero issue. And yes they always unpack but dialogue-free and unpacked to my specified audio folder which resides on another HDD. At least before Gloucester. As in like yesterday :)
And for some reason I am missing the " (Preferences->File->Audio Data (at the bottom of that page))" dialogue even though I am positive I've seen it before.
I do appreciate the response though, mettelus.

It appears the per-project folder preference setting is no more. I suspect it is a by-product of the changes to the new project dialog. Probably also the source of the change in bundle unpacking.

Thx for confirming that I'm not going crazy :)
Now I need to research what changes occurred to bundle unpacking.
Thanks again !

The dialog was tied to the per-project folder setting. Since the preference setting is gone, the dialog appears for all users.

Bundles are best for collaboration and secondary backup. I highly recommend switching over to per-project folders.

Agreed, with Gloucester CW has taken another step in per-project folder advocacy.

Guys - I get it about bundles. Truly I do.
However in 15 years of heavy usage I've not had an issue. Literally not one.

If you must the old file be opened by other computer, you must backup as data file to media. And then you set the data media, and then copy and past the folda on new computer. So you must know the place of directry on Explorer. And then you open file from up for root of fail and more up and choicing the file. So you must serching for cakewalk project folda. It is in there.
