    HAHAHAHA, that's FANTASTIC!
I'm going to search YouTube for more onstage violence.

I remember going backstage during a festival in the early '90s. During the mid-set drum solo from a Billboard #1 band, the rest of the band went backstage and got into a fistfight with each other.  Then casually went back on and finished the set.

Didn't Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend  do that onstage a few times during The Who's career?  Think I've heard a story or two.

Hmmm..... I slapped me yesterday for an aweful solo then turned right around and slapped me for my singing too. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one slapping for bad performance.

Did you see him flick the guitarist in the head prior to the solo? I'd have been done right there. Clearly they didn't rehearse the number enough. Working under a threat is not the way to go.

I would have snapped and beat him to death with my guitar if I were that guy. He really hit him hard. The whole band sucked, not just the guitar player. Should have been a 3 stooges slap fest going on.

Would it have made a difference if he'd played a blinding solo?

Hey singer, hey bassplayer, the whole band sucks carp through a sweaty sock, take some responsibilty willya?

OK take it out on the guitar player then... he's nearest.

if band members are slapping each other for poor performances, why didn't the drummer stand up and slap the singer before he walked off stage?

If this sort of thing seems tame because you're accustomed to having random members of the audience run up on stage and beat you senseless, your musical skills may leave something to be desired.  Of course, it also may be time to stop playing in your mother's basement.

Ha ha I'm laughing so hard right now! I've felt the urge to do the same a few times but resisted it. On the other hand, I've never been on stage with anyone who played that bad since I was.... very, very young and probably was the guy playing that bad...

EDIT: BTW, for some reason I got this one up as suggested video at the end. Dunno why, but it's funny: http://www.youtube.com/wa.h?v=DSArz0T3H3w&NR=1

Exactly. I would have a tough time deciding who to smack first.
I'd probably go with a coin toss between the guitar player and singer.
