Six Degrees of Becan! A new game.
Just came up with the idea for this little game from another thread (and the who knows a Beatle topic). Similar to the game "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" where people realize that they are only six steps away from knowing Kevin, this one is called "Six Degrees of Becan" (naturally) and the goal is to show a trail from you to a band (that I will basically pick randomly whenever I remember to).
For example, if the band was Lynyrd Skynyrd, here's my path:
My connection to Lynyrd Skynyrd:
I used to work with Danny Elfman's best friend (and Malibu neighbor)
He would get killer Oingo Boingo concert tickets from Danny and give them to me
Steve Bartek played guitar in Oingo Boingo and also in Strawberry Alarm Clock
I got to meet Steve at one concert and am a member of his personal forum
Ed King played guitar in Strawberry Alarm Clock as well as in Lynyrd Skynyrd
Or, if the band was Black Sabbath...
My connection to Black Sabbath:
I was once in a band with Craig Goldy
Craig Goldy played guitar for Dio
Ronnie James Dio sang for Black Sabbath
I'm real interested to see how people are connected with each.
So, it seemed only appropriate that the first band for this game should be: GENESIS!

The engineer had just finished working with Kate Bush who sang Wuthering Heights.
Genesis had an album called Wind and Wuthering...

I'm having trouble figuring out the next 5 steps.
Oh yeah... I'm guessing he or someone in his band likes becan... and maybe beignets as well.

I was visiting a friend who was performing in the Hollywood area He introduced me to a "very special guest" who happened to be there: Bob Moog! One of Bob's main students was Roger Powel Roger Powel played keyboards for Utopia.

Of course, I was only playing along with the records. Mainly TRAFOZSATSFM

Oh well... The goal was to find a link to the band, either directly or by a few intermediate links.
In my example, I don't know anyone in Black Sabbath, but I know someone (Craig Goldy) who played with someone (Ronnie James Dio) that was once in Black Sabbath.
So if you knew someone, who knew someone, who knew Phil Collins then that would work as your connection to the band Genesis.
Hmm... Too much thinking required I guess - back to drinking coffee then!

I have to use the Kate Bush wildcard again; A band I was in called 'Jumpwagon' recorded a CD in the same studio that mixed a live album for Level 42.. Alan Murphy played guitar with Level 42 and..Kate Bush.. ..actually, forget Kate, Murphy also played guitar for Mike & The Mechanics who's members include.. ..Mike Rutherford of Genesis.
