I like this short, funky song about Jack.  The mix sounds good on my system and should translate well on most systems.  Chuck, your mixing skills just keep getting better and better.

Thanks Lynn. I felt the mix was pretty solid for what I had to work with here. I appreciate the compliment on my mix skills. I have been working on it!

Well, the guitar seems a bit loud and the bass could use a bit more guts, maybe some more lower end on it.  Maybe it's just a bit too loud.  I can't believe I said that!! :-)  I think you're doing some good work on this live stuff!

i love Sublime so this was a great listen! very cool track. loved it. ending made me laugh ;p  my only suggestions might be:

    1) (next time u record them) double mic the snare, one on top, and one underneath but reverse polarize the underneath one so the sine waves aren't canceling each other out.  then mix the two dead center pan but dial in the lows at the bottom mic and compress the top one, adding a tiny bit of tape echo to the top one ( almost under the threshold of hearing ) & one that also decays quickly.  the combined effect will give the snare an even nicer 'whappp' on the ska downbeat.

    2) the bass needs to be compressed more; also parametrically raise EQ around 80-175 and shelf it off below 40. this will give it a larger more reggae sound but not muddy. the bass sounds mic'd- sometimes i think it's better to go direct [out of a tube head or preamp]

    3) dial down the treble in the guitar a tad and boost the mids and low mids. could also pull it down .5 of decible

Thanks Guys! Hey Daren, yeah he is a big sublime fan (so am I actually)... 1) the drums were recorded Midi from my V kit & sent through EZ drummer. 2) Bass was done with a sansamp bass driver DI. Very natural sound for a DI isn't it?! I love this thing. 3) yeah, the more I listen, the highs in the guitar especially at higher volume are a little loud.

The guitar is a tiny bit too loud. Otherwise it is nicely done.

You will have to rely on the others for the mix. I have no suggestions for it. The mix sounds fine to me.

For Ska/Reggae I think it's too wet. Most reggae I hear is pretty dry. The rhythm guitar sustains too long, IMO. It should go plink not paaaaliiiiiingggggg. That is a performance issue but maybe thru compression or gating you get it to decay faster/shorter. I've never done that so I may be talking bollocks.
