Skrackfilmsproducenten (original song)

http://soundcloud.com/lasse-williamsson/skrackfilmsproducenten

This is a remake of a pop song I wrote aprox. 20 years ago. Skrackfilmsproducenten means Horror film producer, not too serious swedish text there...

This is the first song I finish in Sonar X1 and with all the stuff that goes with it. I use a lot of Dimension Pro. Do I have to open a new synth rack for every sound? I have like 10 synth rack totally and Dim pro is 7 of them.

I have no skill at all in the tweaking of eq/ reverb/ delay/pro channel so I use a lot of presets. Those pro channel presets for instance are gold!

The song, bass, guitar and violin is recorded through a DBX 160XT Compressor and the piano (and some few other sounds) are from a Roland JV-2080.

I use XLN Audios Addictive drums which I like but I have trouble changing volume. No matter what volume I put in the drums dont change at all. Any clue?

Feel free to give feedback!

sincerely
Leizer

I really like this song.  It's just different enough from what I've been listening to lately that I was instantly drawn in.  Overall, the mix sounded good, but the vocals could come up a bit.  Whether you have skill or not in mixing, you did a fine job here.  I don't know the answer to your volume problems with AD, but you could always freeze the tracks and apply envelopes or compression.  Good luck with this.

    All the best,

Sounds like an 80's movie song. I can't hear the vocals barely at all.

It's so amazing how signature aspects of sounds define a generation...the hooks are good for sure.

Its a cool tune. I think overall it is well mixed. In the beginning of the soung the "S" sibiliant sound could be handled with eq.

The vocals are almost completely lost within the music. The need to come up a lot. Its hard to judge the rest of the mix as the vocal levels may change a lot of the instrument mix. Otherwise its sounds like a really fun tune.
