I have both.
When I was checking out the JH collection, I played with it a lot. I'm not much of a fuzz man myself, so I really didn't check out the fuzz style stuff. But the JH amps I really enjoyed. They have a lot of old school character.
I also tried the Slash stuff. I didn't play with it much at all. I just found the default settings were not too inspiring for me. Have not tried any of slashes pedals.
I have found the Fender stuff really good. It's not Recto stuff, but it sure has the right amount of breakup. And each amp is a little different.
The only thing I don't like about the Fender collection (and most of AT3) is the Reverb. All default amp settings are set at 2. And like a real old amp, it's either on, or off. And nothing in between. And to me when it's on it's just too much from the start. So I usually turn it off and use Springverb.
