Slate Digital Virtual Buss Compressor RACK Now Crashes Sonar
I have been using the Slate Digital Virtual Buss Compressor RACK (VBCR) in my master channel in a recent project, which has been working correctly until approx. 2 days ago. Now when I load the project it crashes as soon as the RACK loads and I cannot proceed further.
I have been able to load the project in Safe Mode without the RACK, but why would it stop working all of a sudden? I have NOT made any changes to my system that I am aware of, no Windows Updates etc. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the VBCs a couple of times, but the problem persists.
Has anyone else experienced instability or crashing with the Slate Digital Virtual Buss Compressor Rack? I have sent the error report to Cakewalk, but I haven't yet contacted Slate.
I have found other threads in the forum that seem to indicate people have been having trouble with Slate plugins, but not the VBC as far as I can tell.
I know I can use the plugins in their single forms and they do still work correctly, but now I am concerned that they will stop working for no apparent reason.

Sonar had marked the plugin as incompatible - do I need to reset to make Sonar see the plugin again? Without resetting, I have tried rescanning a couple of times, but the plugin is still hidden.
I am afraid to reset a I don't want to loose my custom plugin layout, I have tried saving it before, but haven't had any luck when reloading it.

Ok, I have managed to get Sonar to rescan and find the VBC Rack, however it still gives me the message that the plugin is not compatible and that I should disable it.

You will need to try a reset if you haven't already. I'm not sure how to backup your settings if indeed this is possible (check the plugin manual/support). Are you sure you are on the latest version of the plugin?

I did check for the most recent version, however it is not available from what I can see on the Slate Digital page.  I seem to recall that they sent me an expiring download link to download it the first time, I will have to ask them if there is a newer version. I have saved my plugin layout to a file in the past and thinking I was safe, reset my VSTs. Upon reloading the layout I found that it didn't work, my custom layout was gone. In the end, if I have to recreate the layout I can do that.

Ok, I've reset and rescanned. Sonar now finds the VBC Rack plugin and tells me that it is incompatible.

I wonder why the plugin was working perfectly fine (at least a month or two) and now it is no longer compatible.
I will contact Slate Digital.

Ok, so I did manage to find the user area on Slate and I also realized that I had installed a beta version of the VBC plugins. I have since installed the last stable version.
Now the Sonar VST scan is saying that the Red compressor is incompatible! This is a nightmare! How annoying!

I don't know please contact Slate Digital. Again the VST Reset is here. You should be doing this after upgrading X3D, Cakewalk recommends this.

CakeAlexS - I have not just recently updated to X3D - I applied that patch as soon as it was available and did not have trouble until recently. I have reset and rescanned the plugins multiple times since then.
This is what is so annoying - the plugins worked without issue until, all-of-a-sudden Sonar decides it doesn't like the VBC Rack and tells me it is incompatible. So after installing the non-beta version of the plugins, the RACK works and now Sonar complains that the RED compressor is not compatible! I ignored the error and it appears to work correctly, but I haven't put a lot of testing into the RED compressor since then.
It is always the most frustrating to trouble-shoot something that is inconsistent, such as the plugins working and then breaking for no apparent reason.

Phonic I remember some residual issues when beta or previous versions were installed and uninstalled.
Try this: uninstall & remove VBC plug-ins from your plug-in directories, and the related files in the ProgramData folder, then re-install VBC 1.0.1.6. There is a 1.1.0.8 and a beta 1.1.0.10 but seeing as those were addressed for Pro Tools users I think 1.0.1.6 should be fine. Also, I am a user of 1.0.1.6 as well on X3d with no issue.
