Looks nice judging by the video. I rarely use comps for mastering & already have several good ones for drum buss chores.
I might try the demo but iLok is pretty much a no-to for my future plugin purchases.

What I don't get is Slate's intro pricing structure:
Buy it and have it shipped WITH a "free" iLok2.........................$199
Buy it and download it WITHOUT a "free" iLok2.........................$199

Surely you should get some sort of discount for foregoing the iLok...$35...$50.
Sheesh.
Anywhoo, looks good but I'm waiting till it really goes on sale.
PS: I was also disappointed that they didn't include any of the usual Fabrice face palms after Steven makes fun of his accent in the intro video:-)

+1 My all time fav is still FG-X for Metal and Hard Rock mixes. It's fairly decent on light acoustic material. Jury is still out on VCC for me. Slate Premium 4.0 is nice now that most of the bugs are fixed. But I still gravitate to Toontrack, maybe because it was the first drum rompler I used in this ITB pahse of my life (and boy do I have truck load of drum romplers  ). Listened to the demo yesterday of VBC and I was not overly impressed, but I think that is because I still (foolishly) look for dramatic A/B comparrisons. That was one subtle A/B that I'd rather not spend $199 on right now.

Just dl'd the demo & authorized iLok without any problems. Checking them out on a drum buss, I don't know how they compare to the hardware but they're very nice.
Useful features, lo latency & no apparent hiccupps so far, a mono version would be handy.
It's a 2 week demo, worth checking out.

This is worth it! Just finished a mix with it and love it for rock music.
I went back and listened to the old mix and it sounded dead and flat. It has a nice way to bring a lively punch to the music.

What the ... ? I swear I saw a price of $169 yesterday after I added it to the cart -- not anymore. Sorry, buddy. But hey, AD gives you a $25 coupon if you buy it there. Unless that deal has now disappeared, too. After demoing it for a little while I'm still not quite sold. The FG-RED comp is nice -- I'd pay some bucks for that one. Guyz those comps are **** great ....and i'm really thinking of selling some of my othe bundles ....cool on cpu and canhandle ANY situation and ANY kind of music (should i say challenge) ....
I start a 15 min video and end up playing with it for 1 hour !!
I know a lot of ya guyz got some epic arsenal , but those will find a place in your top 5 without a doubt !!
My top five was with the duende , CL1B and UBK1 , those enterred straight ....and i tried UAD new stuff and portico ...

Yep, very nice software. He & Fabrice did a great job on these.
I was able to use my $50.00 voucher so it was a decent deal. Plus I have yet another free iLok from Slate.
I hope devs will eventually stop using iLok like Waves did. Unfortunately the handful of my fav plugins require it.

Major Fix to FG-GREY and More..Version 1.0.1.6 has been uploaded to your Account which can be accessed here:GO TO ACCOUNTVersion 1.0.1.6 is a public beta that we are releasing due to the fact that it fixes a random but critical bug in the transformer emulation of the FG-GREY processor. With this fix, the FG-GREY will be sure to sound like an extremely authentic recreation of the the classic British buss compressor, but with the addition of some subtle weight and character added via the emulation of a classic Neve transformer.
1.0.1.6 also contains fixes for VST3, and some issues that we had with AU. However, given the fact that we wanted to make sure that the FG-GREY processor fix was available as soon as possible, we did not have time to beta test these with our private team, although we did some internal tests that confirmed that VST3 and AU were stable. However, as we cannot be sure, we are calling this a "public beta". If problems to arise, we will have properly tested fixes coming soon!
