Slate FG-X trouble with ILok

I am just getting around to installing FG-X.  It keeps saying it requires a newer version of Ilok pace software.  So I updated my ILok2 software and it works fine and shows all my licenses, but the FG-X still has a window that says I must update the pace software and reboot.  Again, the Ilok is working and loads all my other Softube and Slate VCC, but not the FG-X.  I even moved the dll to a different folder, uninstalled, reinstalled, re downloaded....... yet, FG-X is not playing nice with my ILok.

BTW, the FG-X shows up correctly in my Ilok2 licenses on the ILOk site, it just wont load into Sonar X1.  I havn't tried it with other DAWS as Sonar is my only full version DAW.

Anybody have any suggestions before I try Slate Tech Support?

I had the same issue with the last FG-X update.
Here's what I got from Slate support
Delete the driver and then install the more recent one.
Make sure that you unplug the iLok before installing the drivers.

There's some more info in the support docs at the Slate site.

DeeringAmps:  Thanks very much for this.  I went to Slate's site and viewed the full instructions.  Then I did exactly what they said, and got it all working.

Now for the frustrating diatribe:    I have never had trouble with my ILok, but it is only 7 months old.  Having said that I know some have trouble with these dongles.  However, this trouble is apparently not with ILOK but with the FG-X installer.  I just can't fathom a pro audio company releasing a pro quality product that requires ILok2 and whose product has some known bug/trouble with its software installing correctly with an ILok.  Since this product has been out for a while, why don't they release an installer that installs the FG-X correctly in the first place?

    Glad that helped.
All my iLok stuff worked fine (before and after the Slate update), just the
    upgraded FG-X wouldn't load.
The same version of iLok was deleted and re-installed.
Maybe the install date matters to the FG-X?
