Sliding between two MIDI notes - Angel's Wings

After killing myself trying over and over to figure out how to do a proper "slide" between two notes in the PRV, like you would do in real life on a guitar... I gave up and ended up just using the mod wheel.  Two notes into the score, you'll see/hear what I'm talking about.  Can't miss it... it feels so out of place... like a milk bucket under a bull.  But, I couldn't bring myself to figure it out.

The guitar VST is Acoustic Legends HD, using Kontakt 5.  I believe what the patch is missing is a "Portamento" style... so I was trying to fake it.  Any other thoughts and feedback would be appreciated... thanks!

"out of place... like a milk bucket under a bull"
The pitch-bend/mod wheel is what I would have used, and then edit the numbers in the "event list" until it sounded right...
it sounds ok to me... it is what it is, a "guitar part played on a keyboard"...
This is a very impressive, and skillful production... very dramatic music... I love your scene description on youtube...
    well done...

Thank you Notnat! I will try the Event List method later today and see if I have any luck getting to sound more like a fingered slide on a guitar. Thanks also for your kind words about the music and description! :-)

I know lots of REAL guitar players who can`t do a decend slide or bend on a guitar and they play professionally. This sounds fantastic to me and I`m a MIDI dude too.

I wouldn't lose sleep over this.  You played the mod wheel just right, and it comes and goes so fast that few would have noticed had you not brought attention to this.  Overall, the tune sounds just fine, and I like your use of percussion.  Nice song and good listen.

    All the best,

Yup as stated if the synth has no Portamento facility then the mod wheel is the way to go.

I normally just record the bend and adjust the automation after the event but what you've got here sounds good enough to me.

Yeah, I liked the slide too.  And all the rest of it.  What are you using for percussion?  I really like it.  Good all around.  Nice job!

Thank you, Janet. For the percussion I used primarily Damage by Native Instruments, with some fills and elements in the background by True Strike and Stormdrum 2.
