Slim Chance - Hip Hop Short

Here's a pretty old one; and I know, many of you guys on here probably don't listen to hip-hop much. But I did this back in 2011, it's really short, and I just want to see what you guys have to say. Here:

Lyrics:
In a world like this
Ya either make or break your chance to fame
All shame, you keep playing these games
While I get paid, so keep your head in the game,
I'm like a flame, never burn out-
Things always turn out the same;
Got your shoes on backwards,
walking in the wrong lane

It's like a story that's not to tell
That's written right in a book
Put ya in fetal positions, Curled up in a nook
Cuz ya'll ain't ready for the coming of me,
Cuz when I put down' the tracks,
I'm'a have ya'll screaming DjDee

Coming at ya like a flame,
Burns; fire in your eyes,
When you feel that I'm the one you should despise
But then I hit you in the side with a top-ten track;
I'm a aim-low, but if I hit ya, I'll be coming back
I'm a top-line, Break-off, Break-out, Shoot off,
I'm like a canon, no doubt-
You try to figure me out!
Cuz when I come back, you recollect those memories,
I'll be on the on the track, screamin DjDee!

Beats like rain, putting out the fire,
Wanna get fame is your only desire,
Well, ya got a slim chance

Money like cash, paper, top-dollar,
If you win it all, it'll make you wanna holler that you
Got a slim chance

    I like it.

    Youve got the rap swing in it, the intro keeps me interested and the beat is cool.

    Your vox needs a some proper compression and some EQ to help it fit in a bit better. The beat needs to be extraced a little more too. Other people might help comment on this if required.

    Thanks for the reply, Cian. Anywhere I can delve into any of these techniques and learn how to make my audio a bit cleaner? I'm still learning when it comes to effects and mixing, so if you'ove got any knowledge, I'd love to soak it up. Thanks!

    I like this song.  It has a lot of good going for it, like the beat and your vocal.  However, as Cian said, the vocal needs a little help.  I'm glad you put the lyrics up because the verse was a little hard to understand because of the doubling of the vocal.  A little EQ boost between 2 - 3kz would help clean up some of the muddiness, especially if you cut a db or two around 500 hz or so.  Don't forget to do some A/B comparing with another song of this style to tune your ears.  I look forward to hearing this again.

    All the best,
    Lynn
