Slip-stretching problem
Hey there! I just discovered stretching tool in my Sonar X3 and really happy with the way it works, but i have some serious problems keeping the same exact sound i have in Sonar in rendered or bounced version.
So, let me explain what i do and what i got in the end: 1) Importing .wav file and stretching it the way i need. 2) Doing "Bounce to clip(s)" or render the track in .wav 3) Hearing that stretching is reseted. This one probably needs a little more detail. I like the way it stutter the sound when I expending the length etc. It also sounds pitched down or up, but when it rendered - it sounds just smooth (without a pitch or stutter). Is there a way to keep stretched audio sounding exactly the way it sounds after i stretched it - with stutter and pitch? Thx in advance.

Ha! I love it that the "problem" is stretching sounds too good A few years ago I had a similar situation, and went to the forum for an answer. IIRC if you bounce to a new track rather than bouncing the clip to itself, you can retain the "bad" sound. This may work with fast bounce as well as real-time bounce, but I'm not sure.

I tried to bounce it both ways, but result is always the same - smooth!

Hi. I tried to do this, but got the same result as Jers1k. Both with real time and fast bounced, with all or none checked in the bounce dialog. I seem to remember doing this before. All the best.

Okay, I found the issue...I did the real-time bounce thing with bizarro-sounding loops, not time-stretched clips. For a time-stretched clip, send the output to an Aux track, and record into the Aux track in real time. I just tried it, and it works fine

scook No Aux Tracks in X3. If you have X3 Studio or Producer, try changing the offline rendering algorithm to "Same as Online" see for info on how to do it.
Worked for me! I really aprreciate your help man. Thank you!

...and Steve's solution would also work in current SONAR versions if you didn't want to record in real time into another track. Thanks, Steve!
