Slow Motion GUI Animations

I just installed the actual Sonar X* and clicked on the Add Track button for the first time. (I skipped the two updates before.) Now I wonder: Do GUI designers really think I'm paying some hundred Euros for a high speed six core CPU, just to watch GUI elements unfold in slow motion? Just for the records: GUI animations are boring, they are annoying, and they are competely useless. Not to mention they are a waste of development resources. GUI animations are justified only if they visualize some ongoing activity or progress. Otherwise, they may look nice in fun or toy programs, but they don't have any purpose in applications that claim to provide an efficient and functional workflow.

Sure, it may be more psychological than for real, but it always makes me feel like waiting for the application while it is doing its GUI animations, even if they take less than a second. Or maybe they are so annoying because motion attracts attention, and a GUI element popping up for sure doesn't need any special attention. So please bakers, give me an option in preferences to just turn off all toy animations, if you insist to not remove them completely. Other cases of useless animations are showing collapsed modules of the control bar or the flyout-eq in pro channel.

And while I'm at it, shadows for popup windows are even more ugly then they are useless ... really ...

Just another one, transparent is not a helpful text color (as it is used in Add Track, Track Color, and Flyout-EQ windows).

Sorry for the rant about peanuts, but it had to be said.
