Snap Still Driving Me Crazy!

This has gotta change fast... I'm getting tired of re-doing work because of these issues...

SNAP!!! Even using benstat's Sonar Plus isn't helping as things seem to randlomly change (still) even when I don't run Plus...

I'm still in shock that The Bakers even allowed this to start let alone run this far still with so many issues...

I've got a feeling this one's gonna end up sending me away.. these are things that should never have become issues let alone be in the state they are!

I'm sure someone will step up and tell me I'm the only one, but I know better..... ;-)

Yup...my snap reverts to measure seemingly at random.  But it's always after I've taken some action like splitting a clip or copying and pasting or simply changing position in the timeline.

Although I find there are too many options for Snap, and many of those are likely rarely used by people and just cause grief, Snap has always worked for me. Until last night.

1: I created a new project, from the same template I always use.
2: Started to put a drum part together with EZ Drummer.
3: Set the Snap to Measure, and started dropping parts in place.

When I first dropped a part in place - it would snap to the measure. Dropping the next one in also snapped properly, but then something strange happened. Anywhere on the timeline that had patterns dropped would no longer snap.

EG: Say measures 5 - 25 had midi patterns on it. Those measures would not snap, no matter what I did. It wasn't just that track that wouldn't snap - snap simply would not work within those measures. BUT - anywhere past measure 25 snapped to measure just fine (until I dropped a part on it). What that left me was the ability to drop a part, but forget trying to edit it!

Opening the project in 8.5 yielded the same results. Snap just would not work if there was data present! I ended up deleting the project after 1 - 2 hours of frustration and starting over. This time it worked as it always had!

Obviously my project became corrupt, but I'm not sure how when it was the same template I always use - and I just began working with it. I would have been suicidal if I had dozens of tracks in place when this occurred.

My confidence has been shaken! (not broken, just shaken at this time)

Don't fix it in the mix ... Fix it in the take!

Sorry to hear that you guys are having trouble with this too... but glad that there's some confirmation of the issue(s)...

This is/was one of the items quickly claimed "fixed"... but it's not!

I too find that it happens after I've done some other job, but when is there a time that isn't true other than first operation after opening a file?

Even benstat's Sonar Plus isn't managing to hold reins on it... Snapto/by  keeps changing on me as well as the snap value... This is making my work very frustrating and it's now 6 months since X1 was released!

You're not alone Keni. I've noticed it too. I mentioned it in another thread to Seth.

Keni- Sorry to hear your problem. This is just another reason why I am holding off upgrading to Sonar X1.

To be honest I am still afraid to update to it and all the bug reports have just left me with no confidence in it.

Until I get that secure feeling I wont be upgrading to Sonar X1 any time soon.

    Hi Steve...

I know how you feel... and I have always done the updates without questioning.... But this will no longer be the case... this release (X1) has me seriously questioning Cakewalk's direction.... I have always had faith in them, but...............
