Re:Snap Still Driving Me Crazy!

Although I find there are too many options for Snap, and many of those are likely rarely used by people and just cause grief, Snap has always worked for me. Until last night.
1: I created a new project, from the same template I always use.
2: Started to put a drum part together with EZ Drummer.
3: Set the Snap to Measure, and started dropping parts in place.
When I first dropped a part in place - it would snap to the measure. Dropping the next one in also snapped properly, but then something strange happened. Anywhere on the timeline that had patterns dropped would no longer snap.
EG: Say measures 5 - 25 had midi patterns on it. Those measures would not snap, no matter what I did. It wasn't just that track that wouldn't snap - snap simply would not work within those measures. BUT - anywhere past measure 25 snapped to measure just fine (until I dropped a part on it). What that left me was the ability to drop a part, but forget trying to edit it!
Opening the project in 8.5 yielded the same results. Snap just would not work if there was data present! I ended up deleting the project after 1 - 2 hours of frustration and starting over. This time it worked as it always had!
Obviously my project became corrupt, but I'm not sure how when it was the same template I always use - and I just began working with it. I would have been suicidal if I had dozens of tracks in place when this occurred.
My confidence has been shaken! (not broken, just shaken at this time)
Don't fix it in the mix ... Fix it in the take!
