Snap feature?

Hi Folks, having all sorts of fun learning Sonar X1.
I've made one discovery regarding snap that is decidedly odd: Say you set your  snap to 1/4 and you have 1/8 notes.  Where there are no notes, the snap works as expected.  However, where there are notes, snap changes its behavior to snapping where expected AND to the end of a note.

Say you have one 1/8th note at the start of the bar, snap positions are 0, 1/8,1/4,2/4,3/4: Five positions!

that is peculiar; anyone up and running able to check it out? I can't have a look at it until after I get the family fed. Maybe there's a setting lost in a menu somewhere?

If you right click on the snap, you can change whether it is "snap to" or "snap by" you want it set on snap to

Do you have 'Snap to MIDI landmarks' enabled? That's the little midi port icon in the snap settings. If so, then that's normal behavior. Disable that, and you should just have quarter note snap.

+1 on the various snap references mentioned by tarsier of which MIDI landmarks is one. You've also got clip kandmarks, audio transients and markers - as well as the grid of course.
