Snap grid keeps reverting to 1/8 note when I click in the MiDI track

Hi,

I'm doing a basic MIDI drum track for a demo.  I'm using Sonar Platinum, latest version.  Every time I set the Snap to 1/16th, as soon as I actually click in the track it reverts to 1/8th.  I've shut off the Snap To Grid, changed the resolution (which turns it on again), and even tried shutting it off again, then manually turning it back on.  No matter what, as soon as I click in the MIDI track, it goes back to 1/8th (and the grid lines change to 1/8 segments, which is how I know it's reverted.)

I don't see anything in preferences about this.  What am I doing wrong here?

Thanks!

Ok, solved my problem.  The option for Smart Grid is only available when you actually click the drop down list.  That, not the Snap to Grid icon, needs to be turned off by unchecking it.  Then you change the resolution, then you can turn it back on (if you want.)

It's a bit confusing because when it's enabled, the Snap to Grid icon says "Smart Grid enabled", so I thought THAT was the Smart Grid control.  When it's disabled, the icon says "Snap Toggle Extended".

Hope this helps someone else who may be puzzled.
