Snap (no crackle or pop).

I believe this has come up before (and nobody seems to have complained recently) but the problem hasn't gone away:

A project can loose its ability to "snap". Both the PRV and TV are affected.
Opening the "corrupted" file in 8.5.3 gets exactly the same result. Open a different project (or a new one) and snap works as expected. It is very frustrating - in fact it makes the track almost impossible to work with.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem (obviously it doesn't affect everyone)?

On a side note I found opening 8.5.3 after using X1 for the last few months left me befuddled and freaked as I could barely use it!

Grum.

Grum, I think the problem may have something to do with the magnetic strength settings in the snap properties dialog. Press Shift + F12 to goto the dialog directly, then turn the magnetic strength off. This solved my issues with it :)

Thanks, but I did try that and have just tried again. The track just won't snap anymore. I now have deleted all of the synths and midi so it looks like a blank project and it still won't work - once it goes wrong it appears that is the end of it.
I have reported the problem but it appears, judging by the email I have just received, that I need to report it to another department!
    Cheers for responding,
