Negative, perhaps, but my honest opinion.
Just a few minutes ago I was setting up a new project and wanted to quickly add 12 audio tracks. I couldn't find a command to insert more that one, so I had to do it 12 times, thinking there had to be a better way. So the "number of tracks" field in the video really caught my eye. EDIT : Just discovered the "Insert / Multiple tracks..." in the main menu so I guess you could already. The new way looks faster (and more obvious).

Yup, your message beat my report on discovering it. If it had been in the track view context menu I would have found it. I rarely go the the main menu for anything if I can help it.

You can also set that up so that it becomes a button on the 'Custom' module in the toolbars display. It is a very handy and quick helper.

There are some cases where it will be more useful, like if you want to add a bunch of audio tracks into a folder.
However, if I want to add an audio track set to Input 2 of my KA6, with my favorite amp sim and reverb loaded into the FX bin, track templates are the obvious way to go.

But for what it is, I think it will be helpful especially to beginners.
Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

I would like to see this new feature insert the new track at the current selected track location instead of placing it at the end of all the tracks.
If no track was selected then it would place the new track at the end of all tracks.

rtucker55 is correct in his opinion, I think. It's a neat feature but not nearly as worthy of being the top billed feature they are making it out to be. Especially since there are ways to do exactly what this does already in place.

that seems somewhat marginal, given there are multiple ways to do this with current Sonar.
Sonar Platinum, EWHO/D, Spitfire, Miroslav, Pianoteq, ...., Kurzweil.

As a feature, yeah, it's sorta.... OK. And although it's not completely clear in the video, the UI itself looks pretty nice. I'm hoping it's a sign of things to come. Glass half full and all.

The best response to this new feature I've seen here in the forums is that it really helps the newbies. Creating new tracks could get more intuitive, making the learning curve to start recording quicker . . . less steep. This will be good in the long run for the Cakewalk product. Those who have used Cakewalk for a long time will be bored by this new feature, and may even have to rewire part of their brains to adapt. (Or just keep creating tracks the old way)
In any case, I see why they have done it, but now we need something for the long time users to be added next month . . . to keep the balance working and moving ahead.

I just wish there was a quicker way to insert 8 audio tracks, one for each VST out, along with 8 midi tracks automatically routed to that synth and assigned to midi channels 1 to 8. Yeah, I'd like a button for that.
