So here's a little trick i learned about using envelopes

this may be common knowledge, but it wasn't easy for me to figure out, so i thought i'd share it here.

ever since X1, i've found it cumbersome to edit envelopes. switching between the clip editor and envelope editing used to be just a matter of clicking, but now, you have to mouse over to the far left, click on automation, .... or so i thought.

actually, all you have to do is hold the shift button down and then click on the thing you want to edit, and you will shift into the edit mode for that thing. i.e. if you want to edit a pan envelope that you created, just press shift then click on it, and it will jump into the forefront and you can edit it. press shift again and click on the clip in the same track, and the pan envelope will go dark again, and you can edit/move/do whatever to the clip.

hope this is helpful.

Yes it is very easy changing from one to the other. All CW need to do now is have a popup on mouseover so I can see which ghosted envelope is which and it'll be just about perfect for my needs. i.e. lots of automation envelopes on a track.

I didn't know you could click on the clip while holding shift and ghost the volume envelope.  Excellent tip!

Try Right click+Shift = switch between two last objects
