So it turns out we could have upgraded to Production Suite and still qualified for freebie

Drat! If only I'd sprung for the Production Suite upgrade before the plug was pulled, I would've got DSF Symphonic Strings as well, according to the store listing . . . and saved £9 into the bargain.

Getting Z3Ta+2 and the PC4K expander/gate as well would have been nice. Oh well

Didn't realize I'd be getting the Strings for free with my upgrade last month. Thank you much Cakewalk! Very appreciated.

Did you guys manage to get them installed?  I got them "installed' but no files actually copied into the Multisamples folder.

was Dimension pro or LE installed on the system? I would try again and make sure you have those installed.

I have Dimension Pro 1.5 from X1 Producer installed.  I am still downloading the X2 items.  Do I need to remove/reinstall Dim Pro from X2?

No, it should have worked if you had Dimension Pro 1.5 installed. I'd try to download it again and install.

OK.  You mean download Dim Pro again or the Strings?  I'll grab it all just to be sure.

In a couple weeks, once Windows 8 comes out I plan to wipe the whole thing and start anew, so if nothing else I can live til then.  It's just weird.

I would try to download the strings again after you finish installing SONAR X2.

OK will do. Thanks Andrew.  Installing X2 now, will install again afterwards.

Same deal. Fully installed X2 Producer then re-ran the Symphonic Strings installer.  Same results.  :-/

edit 7:45PM CDT: I'm done being an idiot. Reinstalled DimPro and then tried the strings again, and voila all is well.  Sorta.  It stuck them in a Multisamples folder on teh root of C:.  I moved them to the rest of the Dim Pro samples and can use them.
