So, what's the new "shorthand" name for Cakewalk by Bandlab"

Is it:
CWBL, or
CbB, or
CwbBL, or

BONAR!  (sorry...)

I guess, I'll use CWBL until this gets sorted out...

I'm just going to call it Cake, but I might also call it Sally just for the hell of it.

Splat, Win 10 64bit and all sorts of musical odds and sods collected over the years, but still missing a lot of my old analogue stuff I sold off years ago.

Well basically, if you think of deodorant....Speed Stick, for example.  The full name of it is Speed Stick by Mennen. Come on admit it...you just heard the jingle in your head...

But do you ever actually call it Speed Stick By Mennen?  Probably not.  You call it Speed Stick.

As such, I will just call this Cakewalk.  Yes, I know it's by Bandlab.  And if they had a cool jingle to go with it, I'd probably sing that as well, however, I would likely only call it Cakewalk in every day speech.

So if you must shorten it, CW works just fine.  Or even Cake.  Or Sally.  Whatever you want.  Not sure why it matters.

Which reminds me, I need to go to the store and buy some more Speed Stick.  I'm almost out.

My first stab at it was "New Cake". But the possible association with New Coke isn't exactly positive, so I've been using Noel's nomenclature, CbB.

I assume you'd be tempted to read that aloud as "C-flat-B", which is redundant, like "E#F".

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Several posting members are already using CWBL - I like it, it's logical, and that's what I will be using.

CakeLab !

I love it! I came up with the same thing myself (great minds think alike) but then found you'd posted it first. But I think that's what I'll go with. Sounds like a high-tech experimental Pâtisserie, which feels like an organic evolution from the timeworn 'bakers' thing.

As Cb is equivalent to B then CbB = BB = B²

Well I guess if he wants it to be thought of as a childish programme, that ought to do it.

I thought Splat was bad enough. Amazing to think that there are all these people who apparently need an abbreviation because they don't have the time to type Cakewalk, yet spend half their lives posting on an internet chat room.

I'm sure people will settle upon something completely inane to make up for the fact that they can't say "SPLAT" any more. I'm guessing "BANG" or "POP" or "SQUEAK" or something like that.

One of the few "constants" the last 20+ years is "Cakewalk". I think Cakewalk is a fine name and brings the right types of associations. I was also the original name, if I recall.
