Soft Synth Sounds Change Randomly (Wobbly Audio)
Hi Guys,
Hope you can help with this weird problem. I'm using the Korg Polysix Soft Synth in Sonar 8 and the audio just randomly changed to this ugly wobbly sound for no apparent reason. This problem is occuring with other soft synths from time to time. Any ideas what the problem might be? I should also mention that the Midi Meter keeps periodically showing midi activity even when the playback is stopped and no controller keys are being pressed.
Here's a run down of my set up...
PC 4 Gb RAM
Windows XP 32 Bit... which apparently means i'm only using 3 of the 4 gb RAM
Interface - Line 6 Toneport, KB37 (USB) ... Drivers are up to date.
Thanks in advance for any help and advise...

Is your MIDI keyboard controller set to send other kinds of data like system exclusive or active sensing?
Are you using ASIO or WDM soundcard drivers?
I'm not really sure what the cause might be, but just throwing out some possible ideas.

Hi Garrigus,
Not sure what "exclusive or active sensing" data is but not that I am aware of. I will suss it out and see. On the driver front I am using ASIO.

hmmmm.... well it seems i'm just an idiot! After wrecking my head for ages to find the route of this problem it turns out I must have accidentally knocked the mod wheel on the controller. Reset it and everything seems to be ok. At least I hope this was the cause of the prob and it does rear it's head again...

That's a good one. Been there and done that.
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
