Soft Synth to Audio Track using RME Total Mix

I spent last night trying to turn a soft synth track (with effects) into an audio track.
 
My problem is that I cannot get the In of the Audio Track to hook up to the effected soft synth. I can route the soft synth (without effects) to the audio track but than it is just the soft synth. The whole reason I need to make the soft synth into audio is that Gearbox is a HUGE cpu hog! For every instance of Gearbox my cpu takes an 8%+ hit...
 
My RME is a Multiface I so maybe I need to hard patch? That is go Out of the Multi and then back In the Multi and route that?
