Soft synth question

OK. this sounds dumb evern as I write it, but I can't figure out how to test it without risk of messing something up.

If I load a soft synth into a project, then load a particular patch, and then modify that patch in some way and finally save that project:

1. Does my modified patch overwrite the patch in the patchlist?
2. Will my modified patch appear in the project the next time I open it?

thanks

    1. Not unless you save that patch, so no
    2. Yes, it will

You can always SAVE AS and rename the patch, that way you have both. Or just adjust the patch to your liking and save the project and the project will reload the patch with the same settings.
