Solo one Track at a time with one click.

Hi Guys

How do I Solo one track at a time with just one click In Sonar 4 Pro ?

When I click on a track to Solo it if there are any other tracks Soloed I have to click on them to unSolo them, I want these to stop playing and just the last track I select play on its own as I go through the tracks.

Thanks.

Man, I wish I knew how.
I sometimes come across situations where it would be useful, but AFAIK (and someone *please* correct me if I'm wrong), single-track-toggle-solo isn't built into SONAR.

The quickest workaround I can think of is to keep your hand on the keyboard shortcut for unsolo all (I think it's the / slash), and always hit it immediately before soloing the next track you want to solo.

    Hi LoopyFruit-

The closest I've come to this is to click the green SOLO light on the status bar to turn all Solo track settings off at once, then click Solo for the individual track I want. Still not 1-click, but faster than turning them each off individually.

Place all the the tracks you want to individually solo into the same track folder. Mute all other tracks and then solo individual tracks within the folder.

Wow - does that actually do the trick? What a great suggestion. I have to try it.
How'd you come across that method? I have to admit, I haven't read the Folder Tracks section of the paperweight, er, manual.

    Hi-

I still think it's faster (assuming you want to solo just one track) to click SOLO in the status bar to turn off all SOLOed tracks, and then click the S button for the one track you want.

I love track folders, and yes you can solo and mute them, but I often have soloed tracks in different folders that I want to turn off as well, so when I really want to solo just one track I use the technique I described above.

Another option new in SONAR 4 is "Audition", where you can select clips/time ranges and press Shift+Spacebar to solo them.

click on them to unSolo them

    adding to the other methods,,

If I'm working with ,,say 30 vocal tracks and I need to hear track 20 with track 5 and 6 or track 3 with 4 etc,,, what i do is engage the "mute and solo" butons on all tracks,,then I just toggle the "up and down" arrow keys(switching between tracks) and hit 'enter on the keyboard to turn "off" or "on" the mute ,, the trick is to make sure you are positioned on the mute button ,,then when you are using the arrow keys you will go to the next tracks mute button ,, while listening to your tracks you work "on the fly" this way ,,rather quickly,,,,,

Thanks some good tips posted and much appreciated.

I'd love to see a one click Solo function in future upgrades.
